Twenty Years Later
Twenty Years Later: An unputdownable cold case murder mystery with a jaw dropping finale | Charlie Donlea
Two decades after an event that shook the world, a chilling cold case murder is about to make the headlines all over again DNA from a tiny bone fragment has allowed the New York medical examiners office to make its first successful identification of a 9/11 victim in years. Victoria Ford had been accused of the brutal killing of her married lover at the time of her death. In a chilling final phone call from the North Tower, Victoria begged her sister to prove her innocence. Rising star of daytime TV Avery Morgan knows this story is gold, and heads to the city to get the scoop. But as she digs into the events of twenty years ago, she learns that the twisted puzzle of Victorias life belies a deeply sinister tale. Meanwhile, Averys own past one she has kept secret from both her employers and her audience looks set to be revealed. She may get the exclusive of a lifetime, but for both Victoria and Avery the shocking details of the things they did years ago refuse to stay dead and buried... An explosive and compulsively readable crime thriller that will keep you turning the pages late into the night. Perfect for fans of Mary Kubica, Riley Sager and Rick Mofina. Readers are loving Twenty Years Later 'It was a case of one more chapter, one more chapter but I just couldn't stop. It has all the elements of a great thriller, mystery, murder and so much more.' Reader Review ????? 'I could not put it down and it was a compelling read. The different threads of the story that the author managed to include were just so darn clever and twisted. Sensational!!' Reader Review ????? 'The story line was phenomenal and holy smokes the ending was literally jaw dropping. Im still sitting here stunned. Five glowing stars.' Reader review ?????

There was way too much going on in this. It‘s like the twists couldn‘t keep track of themselves. Maybe ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This wasn‘t as good as his latest Long Time Gone, but still a solid 4 stars! I thought revisiting a murder case that hadn‘t been worked on since right before 9/11 was an interesting premise! There are twists throughout it! I enjoyed the short chapters. I was definitely surprised by one twist later on in the story. If you‘ve read his other books, I‘m sure you will like this one too!

The face group Psychological Thriller had a post about Charlie Donlea. They talked about what a great writer he is, so I decided to read 'Twenty Years Later' by him. Glad I read it bc it was good.

A murder of an author takes place and 20 yrs later the lead detective is asked to consult for a TV show looking at the case. There's more to the case and the host of the TV show then you will expect. I recommend this gripping thriller.

My aunt recommended this one. I really enjoyed it! I was wishing for more action at times. I felt that the storyline was original and I could definitely see it as a movie someday. I‘ll pick up another Charlie Donlea soon.

I was drawn to the intriguing premise of this mystery. There‘s a lot going on here, with everyone having secrets and a few different mysteries at the same time. I think it could have deleted one layer of story and been better. I cared more about the murder mystery than the Ponzi scheme story. Overall a fun reading experience with some good twists.

April 12, 2023 FINALLY finished with this six part book. It took a while because in each part there was so much going on. What I did appreciate was that the author put the time stamps or dates and place of the event so the reader had some idea of where and when something was taking place. Hint: The epilogue tells everything... read for yourself and you will know what I mean

April 6, 2023 I am close to halfway done with the book. It is such a compelling and suspenseful book that just keeps you wantingn to know more. I find it hard to choose books sometimes but I usually read the synopsis and look at the reviews of the book before buying it. I cannot STOP reading it. It has kept me occupied and makes me want to read more... So far, Avery Mason has been interviewing person of interest related to Victoria's case

April 5, 2023 Happy Wednesday! Hope eveyone is staying warm and safe from athe windy weather! California has had some chaotic and crazy weather. Omg... Anyway, Im on Chapter 24 of the book (yes it is THAT good). So far, Avery Mason has asked Emma Kind, Victoria's sister, about Victoria, who was a victim of 9/11. Emma shared with her and asked Avery to help her prove Victoria innocent. She heavily believes that her sister is innocent

Twenty years after the prime suspect in a brutal murder was presumed dead in the 9/11 atacks, drawing the case to a grinding hault, a journalist with skeletons in her own closet starts down a path that leads to big questions about the case. I really enjoyed it! Starts off a little slow, but once all of the various angles started clicking, I found it to be an interesting, multilayered mystery with an ending that I had only partially worked out. 4⭐️

A news show host with a secret past is researching a story about how new technology just identified a 9/11 victim from a small bone fragment 20 years after the tragedy when she stumbles onto something more interesting - the individual was facing murder charges when they died. There's a lot going on here, but I really enjoyed it. All of the different story lines were good, the characters interesting and well developed.

For me, this was between a pick and a so so. The story about the murder of Cameron Young, and the question of Victoria's guilt, was interesting. Much more interesting than Avery/Claire's ponzi scheme father IMO. So this was half good and half blah. 🤷‍♀️

When a woman is identified from remains found at the site of the Twin Towers twenty years later, TV journalist ,Avery Mason, smells a winning story. As Avery begins to dig into the story she discovers that Victoria Ford was wanted for the murder of author Cameron Young. Some crazy twists & short chapters made it a quick read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Who killed the famous novelist? What happened to the Bernie Madoff character who disappeared while out on bond? This book kept me reading, but it‘s forgettable. Not much character depth, although there are some twists at the end.

An ambitious host of a news events program stumbles on a story about the finding of DNA of someone who died on 9/11 and was accused of murder. She also has a hidden agenda. Generally, I liked this book because the writing style flowed nicely and the plot was interesting. One caution: it has a little S/M in it so if that offends you skip this book

If you like a good twisty mystery, this might appeal to you. A woman is accused of murder and then finds herself in the North Tower on 9/11. Twenty Years later a reporter with an interesting past of her own starts looking into the old case. There's a lot going on. I couldn't put it down.
