I‘ve been doing pretty good resisting the temptation of the free book table at work, but today I succumbed 😆 #BookHaul

They Say, I Say really conveys the style of academic writing. I've used this book to teach first-year writing. The authors explain basic skills like quoting, summarizing, and refuting others' arguments.

MelissaSue81 One of my students actually recommended this for me/ other students. I want to get my hands on it 6y
JLaurenceCohen @MelissaSue81 you should! It's very helpful 6y

katedensen Oh man. This book. 😂😂😂 8y
LiteraryinPA The blurb is only one sentence. What's it like? 8y
BookishMarginalia @LiteraryinLititz It's a really accessible guide to academic writing as a conversation between sources, and between writers. It uses frames (aka templates) to help students understand how to use evidence, introduce opposing points, and advance arguments. This edition also has many excellent essays with useful questions to facilitate "joining the conversation." The other edition is: 8y
Joybishoptx Great comp book. Definitely one of my faves. Great way to help with synthesis for the AP Lang test! 8y

I've been MIA, working on some big things...looks like the new year will add some academia back to my life! I interviewed for a position teaching Composition and am relying to restart my Master's Thesis. Super excited for the new challenges ahead!

ReadingEnvy Congrats! I use parts of this book when I teach about avoiding accidental plagiarism. 8y
Karli @ReadingEnvy - I'm reading it now and brain storming for additional texts. 8y
lynneamch Good for you! Keep at it. I didn't get my MA until my 40s and loved the classroom until I retired. 8y
