Spent a lot of my day off today reading this powerful memoir-in-essays about the author's journey through transitioning and what presenting as a man but being the "natural mother" of his son has been like. The timeline of some of the essays can be a bit disjointed but the writing style is lovely and the addition of photos and scans of documents make for a great reading experience.

I really enjoyed this book. Its about the author Krys snd his journey with transitioning after having carried a child. The pictures wete nice and the writing great. It was fun to read this while cuteently being pregnant.

Krys went through a pregnancy while presenting as a man during his transition. Here, he reflects upon the realities of being a pregnant trans man, being required to adopt one‘s spouse‘s children (even though they were born during the marriage), and being addressed as his son‘s mother. It is both a window into his life and a potent message about how inadequate our language and societal “norms” can be. Really thought provoking.

A very unique look at pregnancy and parenting through the eyes of a nonbinary/trans masculine person. Exploring what it means to be a non-female going through experiences that society puts in an exclusively female category. Good writing. Fascinating insights.

I‘ve been meaning to read so many books for #pride but keep getting waylaid by library holds! June is slipping out of my grasp, so I finally just pushed all others aside for this one on #hoopla. A short #memoir which was both very different/eye opening and felt so relatable in the descriptions of motherhood for me. Such an interesting concept, which made a lovely #audiobook narrated by the author which is always welcome!

This memoir by Krys Malcolm Beck is a fabulous read for pride month. After a long spell of finding memoir (usually a favorite genre) underwhelming, this debut pulled me out of the rut. #Netgalley #ARC
