My favourite Emily Henry book yet!
What a gorgeous book. I could not have adored Poppy and Alex more than I did. I loved every single page. Beautiful.

This is the story of how Poppy and Alex met, as narrated by Poppy, and spent every summer holiday since travelling together as platonic friends. It alternates between the present holiday and the earlier ones starting 12 years ago. 🤬 But even the flashbacks are narrated in the present tense. I don‘t know if the education system has changed or something but I do remember learning to write in the past tense when we were 6 years old.
I‘m not really in the mood for a romance at the moment - especially after the last disappointment - but this expires in 5 days and Henry‘s books have been decent before
Two friends, two trips. When Poppy and Alex met 12 years ago, they didn‘t really like each other. 11 years ago, a friendship was formed. The book covers the rest of the years and the reader delves into their relationship over the years. This year, Poppy invites Alex on another trip.
The story follows their exciting adventures together to different countries, the different time periods help you understand more about their valued friendship.
Whilst I read my book, Lola and Belle are watching the world go by through the window (it‘s also pouring with rain ☔️)

Moving onto book 3 of 2023. This has been on my kindle for a while so time to tick it off!

This is my second book by the author so I was looking forward to reading it and I enjoyed it. It was a good read and a fun story. It tells of the present and then jumps back to the past holidays which was a nice touch. Poppy and Alex are fun leads with different personalities but it works for them. The plot is a slow burn and the ending was very cute. More of a beach read than Christmas read. 4*
#NovelNovember four days done and reading tailed off a little. Not much happening today as its my eldest daughters last parents evening tonight. Reading the tagged book having panned the other one. Hoping this is better

I really liked this book, loved both Poppy and Alex. Their holiday trips and missed chances together.
There was not one chapter of this book I didn‘t enjoy, a feel good love story that I would read again in a heart beat!
A solid 3.5 out of 5 stars book. It‘s not perfect, it drags at little at times and I didn‘t always completely believe in the couple. Overall though it was a funny, poignant and sweet quick read.
My first Emily Henry read, what took me so long?! I loved this book! Bestfriends Poppy and Alex are the polar opposites of each other-Poppy is free spirited, Alex is quiet and reserved. Every year they go away on a holiday together and have the best time...until 2 years ago when their friendship was torn apart. An enchanting read with very lovable characters, a fast paced read too. This book left me with a smile on my face. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I enjoyed this one but also found it quite frustrating 😆 C'mon people! 🤣 ⭐⭐⭐
Very good. It had me hooked from the very first page as the characters were well written and also the vacation spots were so detailed that I felt like I was there. Lovely romantic story between two unlikely characters which made me want to discover what happens between them. Thank you #Penquin for inviting me to read this via #Netgalley.

Read this until way past my bedtime. So good. #Romance #RomCom about friends to lovers with years of pining.
Two different titles, left UK, right US. Also, since I own the US copy already and the UK is an ARC.
There is a rather important yet minor detail missing in the UK ARC. It doesn't change the story, it's just strange.
