'A gorgeous romance' BETH O'LEARY 'The perfect getaway' JODI PICOULT TWO FRIENDS TEN SUMMER TRIPS THEIR LAST CHANCE TO FALL IN LOVE 12 SUMMERS AGO: Poppy and Alex meet. They hate each other, and are pretty confident they'll never speak again. 11 SUMMERS AGO: They're forced to share a ride home from college and by the end of it a friendship is formed. And a pact: every year, one vacation together. 10 SUMMERS AGO: Alex discovers his fear of flying on the way to Vancouver. Poppy holds his hand the whole way. 7 SUMMERS AGO: They get far too drunk and narrowly avoid getting matching tattoos in New Orleans. 2 SUMMERS AGO: It all goes wrong. THIS SUMMER: Poppy asks Alex to join her on one last trip. A trip that will determine the rest of their lives. You and Me on Vacation is a love story for fans of When Harry Met Sally and One Day. Get ready to travel the world, snort with laughter and - most of all - lose your heart to Poppy and Alex. **PREORDER NOW** ------------------------------------------------------------ WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT EMILY HENRY 'The hottest book of the summer - the pages simply sizzle!' JOSIE SILVER 'Full of banter, heat, and sexual tension. A gorgeous page-turner of a novel' LAURA JANE WILLIAMS 'Full of sexual tension and tantalizing possibility. I fell head over heels for Alex and Poppy, and loved travelling all over the world with them both' BETH O'LEARY 'Emily Henry is my newest automatic-buy author . . . a heartfelt, funny, tender escape that you wish could last forever' JODI PICOULT 'A compulsively readable book full of sparkling wit, dazzling prose and a romance that grabbed me by the heart and wouldn't let me go. Absolutely my favourite read of the year, and probably one of my favourite books of all time' ABBY JIMENEZ 'Funny, and seriously sizzling' BEST 'Original, sparkling bright and layered with feeling. If whipcrack banter and foggy sexual tension is your catnip, you'll adore this book' SALLY THORNE 'What an absolute flipping triumph of a novel!!! I LOVED it ' EMMA COOPER

My favourite Emily Henry book yet!
What a gorgeous book. I could not have adored Poppy and Alex more than I did. I loved every single page. Beautiful.

This is the story of how Poppy and Alex met, as narrated by Poppy, and spent every summer holiday since travelling together as platonic friends. It alternates between the present holiday and the earlier ones starting 12 years ago. 🤬 But even the flashbacks are narrated in the present tense. I don‘t know if the education system has changed or something but I do remember learning to write in the past tense when we were 6 years old.

I‘m not really in the mood for a romance at the moment - especially after the last disappointment - but this expires in 5 days and Henry‘s books have been decent before

humouress Off to a slow start - probably because I wasn't in the mood - but this one has me giggling:
'Touching is such second nature to me that once I accidentally hugged my dishwasher repairman when I let him out of the apartment, at which point he graciously told me he was married, and I congratulated him.'

humouress Ch 16. This is fun but confusing because, given the bumpf, it‘s fairly certain they‘re going to get together though they met 12 years ago, holidayed together every year since but she keeps insisting she‘s ‘not going to marry Alex Nilsen‘ even though there seem to be all these signals 1y

Two friends, two trips. When Poppy and Alex met 12 years ago, they didn‘t really like each other. 11 years ago, a friendship was formed. The book covers the rest of the years and the reader delves into their relationship over the years. This year, Poppy invites Alex on another trip.
The story follows their exciting adventures together to different countries, the different time periods help you understand more about their valued friendship.

swishandflick I had no idea that "People We Meet On Vacation" had an alternate title! (I just looked it up, thinking I'd somehow missed one of Henry's books ?) 2y

This is my second book by the author so I was looking forward to reading it and I enjoyed it. It was a good read and a fun story. It tells of the present and then jumps back to the past holidays which was a nice touch. Poppy and Alex are fun leads with different personalities but it works for them. The plot is a slow burn and the ending was very cute. More of a beach read than Christmas read. 4*

A solid 3.5 out of 5 stars book. It‘s not perfect, it drags at little at times and I didn‘t always completely believe in the couple. Overall though it was a funny, poignant and sweet quick read.

My first Emily Henry read, what took me so long?! I loved this book! Bestfriends Poppy and Alex are the polar opposites of each other-Poppy is free spirited, Alex is quiet and reserved. Every year they go away on a holiday together and have the best time...until 2 years ago when their friendship was torn apart. An enchanting read with very lovable characters, a fast paced read too. This book left me with a smile on my face. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very good. It had me hooked from the very first page as the characters were well written and also the vacation spots were so detailed that I felt like I was there. Lovely romantic story between two unlikely characters which made me want to discover what happens between them. Thank you #Penquin for inviting me to read this via #Netgalley.

Kimberlone Interesting if this was an ARC, they must have updated the title and cover for the final published version 3y
Birdsong28 @Kimberlone They might have done also it depends on your location as some countries have the title changed as it has come out in the UK on Kindle as my title. It's weird why they do it. 😀📚📖 3y

Read this until way past my bedtime. So good. #Romance #RomCom about friends to lovers with years of pining.

Two different titles, left UK, right US. Also, since I own the US copy already and the UK is an ARC.

There is a rather important yet minor detail missing in the UK ARC. It doesn't change the story, it's just strange.

wanderinglynn I hate that publishers change the titles of books. 3y
julesG @wanderinglynn I thought it's two different books, hence I bought the US version. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 3y
Andrew65 Well done 👏👏👏 The two books couldn‘t look more different. 3y

Oryx I've ordered this one - plus her previous one Beach Read. Looking forward to them. 3y
julesG @Oryx Both are good. Great beach read books, too. 😁 3y
humouress Now I want to know what that minor detail was 😊 1y
julesG @humouress I can't remember 🙈 and I've already chucked my notes on ARCs for that year. Sorry. Might also have been a detail that was only missing in the ARC and actually made it into the final UK version. 🤷‍♀️ 1y
