There‘s not a single time I see this title that I don‘t get the 1973 song by The Hues Corporation stuck in my head. While wildly dated, I prefer the song to this book. Read my brief notes here: https://debbybrauer.org/#rock-the-boat

This book was a delight ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was touching and witty, rang true and I very much enjoyed being transported to Sea Point, New Jersey 🌊🐚🦀 and the interesting cast of characters.
And I totally want to meet the author in person!! I can imagine it would be a blast to hang out with her 😅
We‘re having a Golden October so far and my heart is full 🧡 🍁☀️
This book was quite bland for me. I did not care about these characters at all, and I found myself wondering when this book when end. I am sure people will love this book, but this one was a miss for me.
This could have absolutely benefited from more editing- especially toward the thick middle.. fun and light and witty, this book was a nice little read, but some of the wittiness took away from the story; too busy trying to decipher ‘why is that line even in there?‘ than paying attention to the characters. Overall a good story, though! Really enjoyed Dorey-Stein‘s first book, From the Corner of The Oval.
