Rachael Lippincott, coauthor of #1 New York Times bestseller Five Feet Apart, weaves a captivating, heartfelt love story about learning who you are, and who you love, when the person you’ve always shared yourself with is gone. Emily and her mom were always lucky. Every month they’d take her lucky quarter, select lucky card 505, and dominate the heatedly competitive bingo night in their small, quirky town of Huckabee. But Emily’s mom’s luck ran out three years ago when she succumbed to cancer, and nothing has felt right for Emily since. Now, the summer before her senior year, things are getting worse. Not only has Emily wrecked things with her boyfriend Matt, who her mom adored, but her dad is selling the house she grew up in and giving her mom’s belongings away. Soon, she’ll have no connections left to Mom but that lucky quarter. And with her best friend away for the summer and her other friends taking her ex’s side, the only person she has to talk to about it is her dad’s best friend’s daughter, Blake, a girl she barely knows. But that’s when Emily finds the list—her mom’s senior year summer bucket list—buried in a box in the back of her closet. When Blake suggests that Emily take it on as a challenge, the two set off on a journey to tick each box and help Emily face her fears before everything changes As they go further down the list, Emily finally begins to feel closer to mom again, but her bond with Blake starts to deepen, too, into something she wasn’t expecting. Suddenly Emily must face another fear: accepting the secret part of herself she never got a chance to share with the person who knew her best.

The MC in this book is named Emily, which is only one reason I #gifted it to my coworker Emily when she left for another job. #aboutabook

A high schooler discovers her deceased mother's bucket list from when she was in high school, and decides to spend the summer completing it. This was such a cute read, and a perfect pick for #AutumnPlease prompt #FallFlowers (who doesn't love sunflowers?!) #scarathalon #batbrigade

Emily‘s mom just died and now she‘s completing her mom‘s senior bucket list in her own senior year.
one thing about me, if it‘s sapphic, I‘m gonna read it.
honestly this was fine, fairly predictable, does a decent job of dealing with grief and social pressures of coming out etc. 2 major things I didn‘t like, Emily being a bitch while having a moment of gay panic and someone being outed when it wasn‘t clear if that‘s what they wanted.

A wonderful story about discovering identity and coming of age. A slow-burn lesbian romance that shows the social pressures of coming out. But it also shows how the loving support of friends and family can make a world of difference. A quick easy read, and if you‘re looking for a book to read this Summer, go ahead and pick up a copy of The Lucky List.

#AudioBikeRide and while at first I was like "eh" when I realized it was another reliving a loved ones left behind bucket list trope, the ending sets this one apart. I love how supportive the friends are.

At least it looks pretty on my table. Sadly I didn‘t have much time to read this week.

Just finished this. It was ok, just felt slow to me. It was a good read but I found it a little bit predictable.

This was such a cute summer romance. A bit repetitive and predictable at times, but that didn't take away from the enjoyment. I teared up a few times and loved the relationship between Emily and Blake.

Emily and her Mom have always been lucky. But their luck ran out when her Mom died of cancer. Emily is trying to find her way without her mom. But when she is going through her Mom‘s stuff she finds a bucket list that her Mom did the summer before her senior year. She does it with her new friend Blake. I loved the adventures the two went on. I also loved how her relationship with Blake turned into more.

This book is a cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer day. It is so refreshing to see romance blossom between two women! The slowly built relationship between the two is predictable but it's so sweet and adorable that you don't mind it. I loved the adventures that they go together. The only thing that bothered me was the need that both protagonists needed a dead mom to be able to relate to each other. But overall this is the perfect summer read.
