This one was fun to listen to and the audio is really the way to go with it. It‘s perfect for a long drive or cleaning. Considering how many drugs Rogen admittedly does, it amazes me that he is as successful as he is at writing and producing movies. I was able to get it from Libby - definitely a borrow, not a buy.

When I heard that Seth describes his interaction with my former boss, I just had to read this. To my delight, he writes about TWO of my former bosses and even I make a brief albeit anonymous appearance.
This was a quick & funny read about Seth getting high for the first time, interactions with celebrities, getting high after school, Jewish Summer camp, getting high before a meeting with Spielberg, meeting your heroes, and getting high.

I listened to the audiobook and the amount of actors and people from his life that performed on this was staggering. I enjoyed listening to Seth and hearing about his life, but was disappointed that he didn‘t talk more about the movies he made. There were a lot of stories that involved drugs, so between those two things there just wasn‘t enough for me to really connect with him.

Admittedly, as a 55-year-old woman who doesn‘t drink or smoke and has never taken any drug stronger than an epidural (and gave birth once without even that), I am likely not the target audience for this essay collection that does a deep dive into Rogen‘s fondness for using various drugs. A few of the essays were amusing. This might have been better on audio in Rogen‘s own voice. In the end, my review: “Meh.”

Prompt: I‘m a Sinner

This was just a delight! A great car listen for my husband and me to both enjoy. It‘s obviously funny, but what makes it is the vast voice cast that Rosen got to participate.

To be honest, I couldn‘t finish this. So this is more of a DNF than anything else. I usually enjoy Seth Rogen but this had way too much about his childhood and general drug use, the latter of which I found deeply BORING. So I‘m giving up, oh well 🤷🏻♀️ This was just not for me.

I'm not not a Seth Rogen fan; I think I feel an allegiance to him based on 1. His Canadianness, and 2. Freaks and Geeks. This memoir was highly entertaining, and worth reading for many reasons, including but not exclusive to: his experience spending the day with Tom Cruise at the height of his couch jumping days, and his experiences on shrooms and acid.

2-24-22: My 18th finished book of 2022! Seth Rogen is a funny guy. I love most of his movies. This book is written the way he seems to be in person, funny and easy going. He starts off with stories about growing up and moves on to discuss some of his movies as a writer, director and star. A lot of the stories refer to his drug use, mainly marijuana with some forays in hallucinogens. Overall, it wasn‘t as laugh out loud funny as I had hoped.

Seth includes a number of stories about funny situations in his life. It‘s written like him and is a nice easy read. #sethrogen #nonfiction #yearbook

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Collection of essays by Seth Rogen—everything from his Jewish adolescence in Canada and starting to perform stand-up comedy at 13 to celebrity interactions in LA, with a LOT of marijuana and hallucinogens in between. Full of independent essays that all touch in his experiences, but they don‘t get super personal. He performs the audio with a full cast and it‘s great. Quick, funny read. Would be fun for a (childless) road trip.

4½⭐
Narrated by Seth Rogan + a full cast
The narration was a uniquely fantastic experience! If you don‘t like Seth Rogan‘s movies, then this won‘t be the book for you. His life stories are a lot like his movies. He even has friends whose names are Vogle and Evan, and his teen years were sort of similar to the movie Superbad...other than being a different decade. His story about the Amsterdam shrooms experience was absolutely hilarious.

Just me, Seth Rogan, and Andrew Carnegie 😂
I listened to this narrated by Rogan, which is certainly the way to go. There‘s cameos and sound effects and Rogan‘s humorous delivery enhances the experience. As many have already mentioned, there is drug use, spoken about casually. I wasn‘t offended but also couldn‘t relate to his experiences. Not lol and not life changing, but a quick and entertaining listen.

No silence or music. I prefer to read with Sports on tv in the background. 😊

Alternative titles: “Fucking Year Book” and “Year Fucking Book.” 🙄 I mean, even as a card-carrying member of the f-bomb fan club, I found the frequency of use negatively distracting at times. And I don‘t do/desire to do/have positive feelings about drugs, which are also discussed at length. BUT: I kinda really liked the book! He‘s a talented, smart, humorous, kind, successful man with some good stories. Not my best read, not my worst.🤷♀️

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is an interesting full-cast production with other folks popping in for the dialogue in stories. Took a min to get used to, but it grew on me. I enjoyed the family stories and some of the other anecdotes, but this is laden in what Rogen clearly believes to be hilarious drug stories. Like way beyond just weed. And he‘s so casual about it. I‘m not exactly surprised, just letting y‘all know.

Super satisfying when your new book coordinates with your laptop.

I loved the audiobook 10x more than just the book alone. Features tons of cameos & celebrity guests. Loads of stories about Rogen‘s experiences. Probably need to be a fan or interested in his POV to get anything from it. If this is you, then I highly suggest it! #audiobook #ebook #humor #essays #memoir #biography #celebrity #bookreview #audiobooks

Me and the hubs are going on vacation tomorrow for our anniversary 🙌🏽 heading down to the beach for some much needed vitamin D 🌞🌊 I‘m currently reading a gothic horror so I picked up Seth Rogans Year Book for a light beach read

While I 💯 believe Seth Rohan should be held accountable for any trauma caused by his standing by James Franco in the workplace AND feel he should be contractually obligated to share Freaks and Geeks anecdotes, I still stayed up way too late giggling at this collection.

I enjoyed this, there were some genuine laugh out loud moments. However, I can see how other's enjoyment would depend on their tolerance for drug humor. A LOT of this book is about doing drugs and the f@cked up things that happened to him and his friends/family on various drugs.
I found it funny, but I know not everyone will feel the same.

Got a jump start on my June #bookspinbingo list 😬
This was a quick easy read I needed to break up all my studying
This is very much in his voice so if you‘re a fan of his work and humor, you‘ll appreciate this one. It‘s a compilation of stories of his life and career.
