⭐️⭐️⭐️
Marketed as a romance but kind of sort of more women‘s fiction than anything. The (lackluster) “romance” doesn‘t show up until 2/3 in & seems to come out of nowhere. Not so much a HEA as an okay for now. The other problem is Elle‘s “magical” fix at the end. Too unbelievable. I like that the author tried to tackle racism in sports but kind of failed, in part due to the aforementioned magical fix.

1. I don‘t really read sports-themed books. So I don‘t have one. But I‘m currently reading the tagged contemporary romance where the heroine works for a football team & the hero is a quarterback. The author is also married to a retired NFL player.
2. Anything with horses & the dog agility championships
🐣 Snapped was an amazing book. Highly recommend.
🐣I am definitely an indoor reader. Allergies, hot sun, bugs, none of that is my jam.
🐣I do #bookspinbingo but that‘s it.

1. Just chilling at home, reading and doing some cleaning.
2. I‘m responsible.
3. Snapped by Alexa Martin. It‘s so much more than a romance.

So much more than a romance. Deals with current issues in the NFL, and if you haven‘t been thinking about some of this stuff already it‘ll be an eye opener. While taking a knee has been on the forefront I had no idea of the pre-1993 pension issues. I have always loved football (#GoPackGo), but that does not mean that I am not aware of the serious issues plaguing the league. NFL needs to do better.
Highly recommend!

A romance novel about a football player that definitely wasn‘t the first in the series. It did rely a little on you already knowing a bunch of the side characters. But still a good time.
4/5
I don't read a lot of sports romance novels, but I've really loved Alexa Martin's playbook series, and this was such a great bonus novel to the series. I loved how the relationship between Elliot and Quinton included so much about racial injustice both within football as well as broader in our communities, as well as information about CTE.
I‘ve really enjoyed the other books in this series, but this just didn‘t work for me as a romance or as a comedy. I understand and get what the author was trying to do, but it was just not executed as well as it could have been. Other people‘s mileage may vary though - especially as I‘m a white Brit.
