phenomenal story. When Ash gets hit playing football game, he finds he can jump universes. What entails is creating new universes, trying to find better ones. Where he finds they all have problems. I loved the various perspectives throughout them. From Leo, being black. Katie, being a girl. He‘s not the center of the universe. Or is he, if he can change universes. Neal does it again in showing different ways to think about the world.
Just started the audio on this but it‘s already so hard to hit pause! But that always been my experience with Neal Shusterman books.
Thank you @Readergrrl I love it all! I haven‘t heard of either book but they both sound good. Thank you @Avanders for another fun swap!

Game Changer is a Game Changer. Great writing. Great story with substance.
This is excellent. Perfect blend of Douglas Coupland's existential weirdness & the teenage friendships & first loves of Patrick Ness with a bit of Quantum Leap thrown in for good measure. And despite the breezy writing & easy readability of it, it addresses some heavy topics - racism, inequality, homophobia, domestic abuse. It's funny, hard hitting, thought-provoking, relevant, clever, touching - just pitch perfect YA really.
"Most abusers are funny and charming, and genuine and respectful, right until the moment they're not. But by the time those nastier colors bleed through, you're already snared. By then, they know you. They know exactly where your wounds are. All those vulnerable places filled with self doubt. They find those places, dig deep, and have their way."
As someone who lived in an abusive marriage for years, this resonates. What a powerful book this is!
"Pulse Nightclub in 2016. Matthew Shepard in 1998. They were attacks on me. I was tortured. I was beaten. I was gunned down. It didn't matter that some of it happened before I was born - it was still me. Because when you're gay, every cowardly homophobic act you see is an act against you."
Wow. That is powerful. ???
This book is blowing my mind right now! Just started it earlier today and now I can't put it down! 💕📚 Happy Friday! #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #roxas
After Scythe, I‘ve been so excited for every Neal Shusterman book! Got this thru my local library, on audio, and rly enjoyed it. I wish I had something like this when I was younger. Actually, the books are nothing alike but it did remind me of a story I read when I was small (by Josteein Gaarner). Just kinda a philosophical feel, with a good plot to back it up
Ps. We found this cat and now she‘s family 🤷🏽♀️

Great YA read about a teen who suffers a concussion that opens up other multiverses. He struggles to try to change the world and eradicate racism. It‘s a bit preachy, but a good story.
Neal Shusterman‘s YA SF novel is a high concept tale with a QUANTUM LEAP vibe about being a better person, privilege and tackling injustice while also being honest about apathy and wanting a simpler life. It‘s slickly written, fast-paced and a smart way of examining current issues without being preachy while also taking traditional high school tropes and stereotypes and using them in a fresh way.
Short #FabulousFebruary readathon update.
Finished another three books. 🥳
@Andrew65
It arrived a day late because my old card (that was cancelled because someone hacked into my Panera account. 🙄 But it‘s here.
I am not sure if I am ready for another Shusterman book. They are sooooooo gooood, but also sooooooo mind bending.
