I enjoyed this one, though it was kind of slow to me for most of the book. The last bit saved it from 3⭐ to 4 ⭐'s

Claire is getting married to the man of her dreams. He is handsome, rich and part of one of the most famous families around. They travel to Italy to the “family island” for the wedding, but someone wants to kill members of the family. This one was really good, and had a lot of great surprises. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Book 199🎧 3.5⭐️
A very curious “who dunit‘” - I listed to this alongside reading The Family Game and both deal with marrying into a very rich, very powerful family. I got a mixed up with the two until we got to the meat and potatoes😂
When you have that much money, everybody wants something from you!
Fine beach read . Yet author didn‘t make me feel invested in the characters. At times it reminded me of “The Guest List” and at one point of the original novel “The Flight Attendant,” and both of those have better characters and tension. I saw/heard the ending coming. Narrator did a good job, though. #3stars #mystery #characterization
Started a bit like “The Guest List,” but shifts into a different & intriguing twisted mystery. An artist is drawn into her charming fiancé‘s affluent family & their dangerous web. Narrator does a varied range of voices well. #audiobooks #mystery
I did not understand all of the different things happening in this book. It had great potential but the storyline was so convoluted. I think this may have done better as a series. Like the character Fatima, why were her loyalties the way they were. And what was her motivation and then why did things end the way they did with her? And she's just a minimal part of this massive story but this was the same with each character. Too many questions..
This was as creepy and entertaining as I expected. I wish that the reader was left with a firmer answer about what happened to Morgan 10 years prior but I can live with conflicting stories from various unreliable narrators.
34/100, 4☆, This was a great thriller! I kept thinking I knew the answers and then kept questioning myself just enough that it was interesting until the very last moment. The small Italian island with a beautiful villa provided such an amazing backdrop to the sinister storyline. I highly recommend this!
Excited for this! I love JT Ellison‘s writing!
Have you read this one?
⭐⭐⭐
A decent thriller and a page-turner. I guessed the culprit early on and got distracted by the American characters sometimes using British slang.
A little too predictable, and not her best work by far, but readable because of all of the events and the atmosphere. Between a ‘pick‘ and a ‘so-so‘.. but I went with 🤘🏻 because I did enjoy reading most of it. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
It took a while to settle in to the story and I was a bit uninvolved at first but as the body count mounted my interest became piqued and by the end I had endless scenarios whirling around in my head.
At times I wondered which of the characters I was supposed to believe which was a teensy bit off putting. I feel the character development could have been more engaging but the story travelled at a fast pace and the crescendo finale was excellent.
Beautiful day here so I am posted up in the ☀️ with my book! 😚🤗
Starting this one outside today 😌!
I forgot to post my #bookspinbingo card for March. My best ever card. I finished:
17 books
8 bingos
My #bookspin book, Grant (which also finished my 1st chunkster of 2021)
My #doublespin, The Pearl (my classic novella)
⭐️⭐️⭐️. I read the audiobook and switched about halfway to the book itself. I preferred reading it myself - found it easier to follow.
Great book, as usual! I want to stay at the villa and play with the dogs but it ends there! 😂🤣
Review is up on my blog. Check it out. Creepy and intense

Overall Rating 4⭐| Narration😕=Should‘ve had more
The Good:
The island setting is descriptive, remote, and creepy.👌
Nobody was safe in this story. The bodies were piling up.😱
It was engaging and well written, I was never bored.💯
The Bad:
There is only one narrator and several POVs. It was difficult to figure out whose head I was in.👂
It did have some implausible moments and some out-there reveals but they were not deal-breakers by any means.😏
Who has more secrets - Jack or Claire?
HER DARK LIES is filled with so many really good twists and turns, secrets, and characters we need to figure out, you won‘t be able to put the book down.
Ms. Ellison skillfully made the tension and interest non-stop in this dark thriller.
Don‘t miss this one. 5/5

Claire‘s narration was such that at times she annoyed me with her insecurities and her desire to see if she measured up with Jack‘s ex but, I also admired her drive and commitment to achieving her goals. About Jack, I loved how he was with Claire but I also felt that if he just stepped into the shadows, just a bit, a different Jack would appear. It was lovely to be so torn on these two characters and what was taking place on the island.
Thank you to @daniellegirardbooks for this win. :)
