These are super fun. In this, Calamity Jane and her cohort are werewolf hunters. The audiobook is really well done and I love all of the Annie Get Your Gun references.

This book is just as much fun as the first two in the series and I cannot wait to read more by these authors!
Funny, silly and utterly ridiculous, this book was a fun read. The authors take historical figures and create a new history of outlandish proportions. If you are a purist, you won't like this book. I, on the other hand like a good tale.
Calamity Jane just makes you want to hug her! This book is the third in a set of historical retelling about women named Jane in history who didn't get the stories they deserved. This one Jane is a werewolf hunter in the wild west who is learning who she is and what it means to have a family. I loved the side characters and how the authors mix up timelines to make friends where they didn't fit in real life. These books are just such fun to read!
I tried, 70 percent in, enjoyed the beginning and like the premise, but now I just want the story to end🤪 probably why I finished 2 other books during #AwesomeAugust #AnyWayYouReadathon taking this off my list.

1. I read the paper in the morning (like it better than watching the news, can decide which stories I want to explore more in depth)
2. Most of my family/friends are readers
3. If it is a book I cannot wait to get back to - then it is probably a 5 - doesn't matter genre etc... - as long as I am enjoying it
4. I'm grateful for my family/friends
Make a great day everyone -
In Moose Pass Alaska with brothers and nephews. Beautiful morning.

Too many chunksters - dropping Hearts in Atlantis ( #LosersClub) and The Thorn Birds ( #ThornBirdsReadALong) for now - putting them back on TBR list and getting a few quicker reads - still plan to finish HP and Half Blood Prince.

Tagging anyone who reads this😉

1. Anything over 500 pages
2. read them, I fear it would take too long and too much concentration to listen to a chunkster 😊
Want to play @sharread @swynn @Shmemilina @Jari-chan @batsy ?
This book was hilarious! It really should have been titled Calamity Jane and Gang lol, but if you're looking for a laugh definitely pick this one up. 😁

Finally getting back to this series! These books are so fun. Planning to start on My Contrary Mary right after this one. #currentlyreading
My least favorite of this series. I‘m confused by the pop culture references to the series Deadwood, in particular, as I can‘t imagine many Gen Z teens have seen, much less heard of that series or the characters that are transposed to the book. The accents in the audio narration were way over the top.
*Been a bit MIA on Litsy the past week since I was on a extended girls weekend vacation. Getting caught up on reading progress and reviews now!
❐ Overall Rating 3 | Narration 4½
I think my main issue with this was the length...for something that was supposed to be a fun read/listen, it turned into something that was kind of tedious. Overall, it was sometimes funny, and even sometimes interesting, especially its take on shape-shifting wolves but unfortunately, it failed to wow me in any way.
I didn't like this nearly as much as the first installment of the series. What I *did* like: women who don't need to be rescued/do the rescuing themselves; normalization of a same sex romance; mild soapboxing; George the dog.
I meant to post this one last night, but I fell asleep before I got around to it. This was a great end to 2020. I loved all 3 of these books. This was second only to My Lady Jane by a smidge. I loved the characters, loved the story. The authors have really hit on a good little formula for these books.

Book 37/40 for #crushtherush and #readyourway. I didn't hit my goal for December, but I got close.
I'm trying to finish these last two books by the end of the year. I'm reading Calamity Jane on kindle and People is hardback. 🤞
What are you hoping to finish before the end of the year?
I love this series it is so much fun! I loved the Wild West setting and the addition of the werewolves. I enjoyed how much real history they incorporated into the story in such clever and fun ways. Over 500 pages but never felt that long.

Finished Jo & Laurie - a little controversial, but it was a comforting read for me. Also finished Thorn - holy buckets, what a great story!
Almost done with My Calamity Jane - such a fun series!
@Cinfhen
A reimagine of Calamity Jane et al as garou (werewolf) hunters, this book is so much fun! There are many cheeky social critiques and some fun pop culture references. I loved the first book in this series but was mildly disappointed by the second, so I‘m delighted that the third is as much fun as the first.
Another winner from The Lady Janies! Their blending of historical fiction, fantasy, humor, romance, & breaking-the-fourth-wall narration is always entertaining. I‘m not into westerns & don‘t know much about the *real* Calamity Jane, Wild Bill Hickok, Annie Oakley, or Frank Butler, but I was thoroughly engrossed in this reimagined history. So clever & funny! Just what I needed right now.

Anyone else an old school Oregon Trail player? 😂 I‘m having flashbacks to my once-a-week elementary school computer classes in the 80s!

I LOVE the pop culture humor and contemporary narrator asides in all of the Jane books. I‘m about halfway through this one centering on Calamity Jane & Annie Oakley, and it does not disappoint. I find myself literally laughing out loud every chapter! #ya #historicalfantasy
Between a pick and a so-so.
Another fun historical retelling from the Lady Janies. Calamity Jane, Jack "the Pistol Prince" Butler, and Annie Oakley star in Wild Bill's Wild West as a front for their werewolf hunting operation. Overall enjoyable and I like how the narrators burst through the fourth wall, but some of the pop culture references felt overdone in this one and took me out of the narrative.
3 stars / ⭐⭐⭐
Was this book just one giant Annie Get Your Gun reference? Maybe! Also, werewolves.
Having trouble focusing today. I ran a bunch of errands earlier but just couldn't seem to be productive otherwise--so a bit of reading to give my mind something better to do than worry about not doing anything
It is nice to see humor akin to Monty Python is alive and well and living in the works of these three authors. My Calamity Jane is another fun parody, this time based on famous stories of the Wild West with a bit of a werewolf twist.
My least favorite in the Jane series but still a fun read.
