Read this twice in a row. Liked it better the second time. A little confusing, so maybe one more read would give this a 👍 Beautiful art though!!!

Two timelines—1856 & 2016—with characters that appear to cross back & forth between them. A poet who distresses her family by being obsessed with Edgar Allen Poe, vampires & other spooky stuff. A trio of high school girls who start a punk band… musical ability optional. The wearing of costumes as an everyday thing. So many off kilter subtleties, mysterious & intriguing… I read this translated graphic novel 3 times, loving it more each time.
Just try to lower the dose of vampires, crypts, and dementia. And we will all be happier.
She wants to be in the group.
I didn‘t say that.
What‘s the problem?
I don‘t know how to play any instruments.
Beautiful art, I love the choice of a limited colour palette. I was happy to float along with the more surreal elements of the narrative, but I admit I got a little lost in the middle due to the similarities between how the characters are drawn.
I loved this graphic novel. The art is gorgeous and the story was odd and evocative.

The art style is excellent. These pages are a treat to look at. The story was a bit hard to follow, but the two distinct timelines were intriguing. There were a few things thrown in that didn't seem to fit, and other things weren't really explained at all. I enjoyed the read though. #comid #costume #eccentric #punkmusic #music #ghost
Every single panel of this graphic novel is A WORK OF ART, I swear. I‘m not 100% sure what‘s going on, or if faceless characters used as a masking technique is brilliant or creepy. But holy hell is it pretty.
“Mother, if I write a beautiful poem for the party...for my debut, one that you like, can I write other things for myself?” “Always. Only...Just try to lower the dose of vampires, crypts, and dementia. “
