I typically love books with a Ghana setting/plot. I struggled with this one.

The first of my books from last week‘s push to #blackoutbestsellerlist/ #shopblackbookstores arrived today. 😍 I love #bookmail.

I'm not really one for family stories, therefore it's only a so-so for me. The book tells us how a family can fall apart and what it all takes to come back together. I was happy for the characters in the end, they deserve to be happy again.

I loved this book! I‘m surprised I haven‘t seen/heard about this book more. I loved the unconventional structure; it mirrored the narrative perfectly.

Loved this! Structure was a little quirky but was still able to go with the story.

Oops, went to the library to pick up one hold and may have borrowed a few more than I meant to. I might have also gone into a charity shop first and bought some book. Quite a few #ownvoices here suitable for #diverseathon. Very happy with this #bookhaul

Aquedita Atwood has been on my reading list forever. Determined to make it happen this year. Nice haul :) Enjoy #diverseathon! 8y

Weaponxgirl @Basia that was the one book I was meant to get today.... Just the one. 8y
Weaponxgirl @Aquedita I've only read some of her less popular books and loved those, I should really get on her big and popular books 8y

An excellent #bookhaul from the mothership aka Powell's. With my trade-in credit, this was just under $25 out of pocket. A great day! Five of these are Litsy recommendations, the rest spontaneous grabs.

LeahBergen Ooo, The Girls! I think you stacked it from my post so that one might be my fault. 😬 8y

Found this to be a vivid and imaginative story. Selasi's detailed writing draws you in and captivates. The story is nuanced and allows the reader to do some of the figuring out, which is satisfying. There are a lot of hidden gems and insights in this book.
