I finished Primer! This is a really fun YA superhero graphic novel involving foster family, superpower-inducing skin paints, and skeevy government military science projects.

On my hook : the start of the yoke for an Alma Sweater. Blue yarn is Malabrigo Sock in Matisse; multi yarn in Hobbii Dream Colour in Unicorn. Yes, it's supposed to be curling like that at this stage.

My first book of November was my #doublespin pick. I happened to start it last night when I couldn‘t sleep. I‘m glad I finally got around to reading this. It‘s a truly charming testament to girl power, parental love and artistic expression. @TheAromaofBooks
This was a fun middle grade superhero adventure. Ashley has finally clicked with her latest foster family. But she accidentally gives herself super powers & gets mixed up in something sinister.
I liked the story & the characters. I only wish they explained earlier that superheroes were already a thing in her city because I was confused when she showed up and no one was surprised by her powers lol. But I guess that's to be expected from a DC comic
Uh what part of DC were they hanging out in? Just lots of people in business clothes usually.
This was a quick, cute read. Ashley is placed with a new foster family, and is caught by her foster father spray painting graffiti in the park. A fellow artist, he encourages her ability instead of punishing her. Meanwhile, Ashley‘s foster mom is working on a top secret government project, that Ashley discovers, mistaking for “special” paints. Great for elementary readers.
I wanted to fall completely in love with this middle grade graphic novel that introduces a new superhero, but it didn't quite make a pick.
The artwork is gorgeous, kid-friendly, bright, and so much fun. Having the main character be a foster kid was a great concept too, but I just felt like something was missing.
Young girls will probably really like this one. I hope there are more additions to this series so that the street can develop more.
I loved this. It was adorable.
Most are greeted with "good morning" instead I get "I finished another book while you were sleeping, Mom."
Kid, don't ever change.
"I really liked it. Ashley likes art like me. Her jail dad is scary. I want to read another book about Primer." -age 7

Yes! I love everything about Ashley/Primer! Creative, funny, broken back story, smart, overcomer. Gah! I literally sighed on the last page, as the story eludes to a continuation. I couldn't be happier, because I'm officially a Primer fangirl!
