Happily Ever After & Everything in Between
Happily Ever After & Everything in Between | Debbie Tung
26 posts | 34 read | 11 to read
From the bestselling author of Quiet Girl in a Noisy World and Book Love comes a funny and adorable collection of comics about married life, specifically an introvert married to an extrovert! Debbie Tung's tender, funny, and utterly relatable comics are the perfect gift for anyone in a relationship. The comics in Happily Ever After & Everything In Between may be inspired by Debbie Tung's marriage to her extrovert husband, but any couple can relate to increasingly relaxed anniversaries, slowly seeing more of each other's weird sides, or the punishment for taking care of your sick loved one (catching whatever they had). Happily Ever After humorously captures what everyday love looks like--both the sweet moments and the mundane--making it a fitting gift for weddings, anniversaries, and Valentine's Day.

Adorable and cozy, just like Debbie‘s other books. These sweet comics tell the story of Debbie and her husband‘s life shortly after their marriage. It‘s an adorable little slice of life packed full of good-feels one-off comics. I am also (oddly) a sucker for drawings of tea, of which there are many in this book. #comic #Tea #SliceOfLife

Cute, relatable, fun read! My only complaint is that the first several pages were repeats from Quiet Girl in a Noisy World. Jason and Debbie are such a loving couple, but not in an over-the-top cutesy way. I also still enjoy the watercolor style.

AkashaVampie Awww I'm sorry sweetie. I totally get the picture. We are all in the same room but doing our own things. 4y
ElizaMarie @AkashaVampie I think because it gets so dark here and I‘m working so much and constantly stressed I miss sitting here complaining that he won‘t leave me alone. I am just in a funk 4y

This was a cute collection of comics about a young married couple. Sometimes... a little too cute. But I thought we could all maybe relate to this page in particular. 😉 #bookspinbingo

This is a sweet book covering the author‘s six years of marriage. I‘ve been married for 36 years, and I could relate to some of it. My husband says we‘ve actually been in the same bed and done what Jason and Debbie do in this panel. 😄

The protagonist in Ghosts of Harvard just did something extremely stupid, and I can‘t deal with her possibly getting hurt or killed at this time of night. I switched to reading the tagged book instead even though I only have 12% of the other book left.

These Graphic Novels are always so relatable and cute. I adore it's simplistic art and the truth in it all.

Debbie is now an insta-buy author in my life.

Wordsling I wish there were more books about staying single or dealing with break ups. 4y
Wordsling It's usually always about Happily Ever afters and yet I don't seem them around in real life very often. Sorry for the rant. Just saying 4y

A sweet little read that will make you smile, laugh and occasionally feel like Debbie Tung has no business looking so deeply into your soul.

Graywacke Sent the picture of that cover to my wife. ☺️ (a little too appropriate) 4y

June has not been good for my reading life (I failed at my #JoysofJune goals in a truly spectacular fashion) so I‘m going to try to do a reset with Happily Ever After and then make good progress on the rest of this stack over the next few days.

This is really, really cute, it gave me cavities, I loved it. Even as a perpetually single person with no particular desire to marry, or even do the entire relationship-thing, all the loving vibes made me smile and sigh a bit, sort of like the way you do at a cute puppy or a romcom. Just good vibes all around.

CaliforniaCay I'm also perpetually single with no desire to get married, but there are certain comics depicting couple that I can't help but love 🥰 Yehuda Devir and Sarah Anderson are also good. 💜 5y
okthislooksbad @CaliforniaCay I'll have to look up Yehuda Devir, but Sarah Andersen is /amazing/, so I trust your judgment on this 😂❤️ 5y

I LOVED this. What a sweet, realistic portrayal of a relationship starting out. The vast majority of these pages had me laughing out loud because I have experienced the exact same thing. With quirky, imaginative drawings and heartfelt, simple dialogue that speaks truth, this book is something I will revisit again and again. 5 stars for sure.

All day yesterday I thought it was a Thursday. 😐

A delightful series of comics that captures the humor and fun of early married life. Most couples will identify and while maybe not trailblazing definitely funny and full of heart.

[I received an advanced e-galley through Netgalley. It is due to be published June 2, 2020.]
