Bk11 of January 2022 & #JumpStart2022 is done. The 3rd in the Alice series, it‘s an anthology of four short stories. The 1st is about Elizabeth, Alice‘s little sister who is lured out to release the Jabberwock from his prison, one is about Hatcher‘s early days & the rest about Alice & Hatcher‘s search for a home. All creepy & bloody, all brilliant! #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #Pop22 #BeatTheBacklist #FinishingTheSeries2022 #MountTBR2022👇
Four intertwined novellas - loved them all. I haven't read the books that came before (Alice and Red Queen ) but now will week them out. Dark and Lovely at the same time.
Nice and darkish retelling of Alice with some nice new characters
I was obviously excited when I learned there were more stories, but I didn't need a story from Alice's sister, or a Hatcher backstory. I just needed Alice to finally find her happily ever after. I did read the first two novellas, then bailed halfway through Hatcher's, and then skipped to the end, avoiding the "witch hunting village"--err, Village of the Pure. I did like Alice's story, where she finally accepted her magic. Other than that, meh.
The accompanying novellas of the Alice Chronicles were hit and miss for me. I enjoyed most reading about Hatcher's backstory. The first book (Alice) was definitely the best overall, imo. #FairytaleReadingChallenge @Charityann
Bk3 of my #MayBookHaul is the 3rd book in the Chronicles Of Alice series. Rather than a full novel, this is four short stories from the same universe, all connected to the two MCs, Alice & Hatcher. Henry is a master at taking a classic story & twisting it with just enough creepiness to give the reader the heebie jeebies. I highly recommend her books, especially if your a fan of authors like Greer Hendricks.
Completed 3 sets now (got the other Christina Henry books and Amy Wilson books). Just what you need for a cheer up. Just need the time to read them now 🙈😁 happy reading all 📚❤️📖
