Maybe 1 in 50 books I read is a political thriller - there‘s just so many books and genres out there! In a political thriller I‘m fairly confident the hero of the story will survive but anyone else might be dead by any chapter‘s end. Often, like this one, I just want to get to the end to see who gets to enjoy a good stiff drink in the epilogue!
⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a quick read with an action-packed plot, but I found it to be kind of “meh”. It definitely seems like a storyline you would see in a movie because that‘s the only way this plot would be believable. The characters were a bit unremarkable, including the main protagonist who seemed a bit plain and not very interesting. Overall, this had a decent plot but the book kind of fell flat for me.
Meh. This was a fast read but not a great one. The many wtf moments don't do any favors to an implausible plot. It reminds me of those bad straight to DVD action flicks where there are lots of explosions and shootouts but little logic. I'm being generous with the so-so.
Book 10 finished for #Awesome August

Fast paced, exciting, and lots of action. I needed a break from slow going serious stuff. It was a fast, easy read. I give it three stars. #botm ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I normally watch movies and TV shows that are similar to this book, Jack Ryan and Shooter, but I have never read a Political Thriller before. I loved how it starts right at the beginning of the action and doesn't stop until the very end. I also enjoyed how the Politicians and leaders in Washington DC are portrayed as being corrupt to the core, and how the Presidency is bought with money and power rather than votes. Overall, an enjoyable read.
I finished this #BOTM selection a few days ago and enjoyed this fast paced read. It reminded me of my favorites by Vince Flynn and Brad Thor.
When I first picked this one out to read and saw that the reviews weren‘t very good I was a little worried...but I actually really enjoyed this one! It was a fast paced thriller that kept me guessing most of the way through. There was plenty of action and suspense. While it isn‘t the best book I‘ve ever read, I feel it deserves a strong ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Next up: my recent #botm choice! I‘m trying to catch up on some of my old picks I haven‘t gotten to yet.
Political thrillers are definitely not my forte, so I have no way of knowing is this was above or below average for the genre. I just know that, despite all of the action, I was bored and ready to move on. I'm glad that I checked this one out from the library rather than add it to my #BOTM box.
This plot of this novel has been captured in many book pages. Someone is framed for murder and they fight to clear their name
I loved that the protagonist “has a certain set of skills” that can help him in his mission. The novel had a lot of action for a thriller. I liked that it was fast-paced. I, however, didn‘t like that there were so many chapters. 🤦🏽♀️This book DID NOT need 106 chapters for 334 pages
In the end, I‘m okay with this time. It‘s my lowest ever for #24in48 but I‘m just glad I was able to get some reading in. This weekend was just what I needed to recharge, because I was a bit stressed last week (with work). Heading to work in just a minute, and I hope everyone stays safe and has a good day. #stayhome24in48
I am a third of the way through and I must say I‘m pleasantly surprised at how much I‘m digging this book. I had picked it for my #BOTM because I wanted to try something new. So far, I‘m really glad I did. #stayhome24in48 #24in48 #readathon
I was pleasantly surprised by this being a #botm option. I‘m looking forward to reading it.
My March #botm pick!
