I was interested in this series after seeing a little bit of the show. The comics are fast reads, but are all very interesting. I'm curious as to how the storyline will wrap up.

I read this a few years back, but wasn't that take in by it. It fell a bit flat in comparisons with Saga (which I was also reading at the time)
But the story kept hunting me... I really needed to know if these kids ever got to the bottom of what their parents were up to.
So I decided to re-read it and then jump straight into the next volume to see if it will grab me this time around.

This is a review for issues 1 through 18 of the first run of Runaways from 2003 - 2004. I recently learned this was a show on Hulu so I read issue 1 from the new run with Rainbow Rowell that started in 2017. It was interesting but I was missing a lot of backstory, so I decided to start out at the beginning. I have never consistently rated each issue of a series with only 4 or 5 stars until now. It‘s something different but very compelling, and ⬇️

Thank you to the wonderful @Meaw_catlady for the tag!😺
I like this cover for a couple of reasons. First, the mix of colors and shading look really cool. 😎 Also, it really captures the mood of this particular issue. Molly had always been the most spirited and upbeat member of the team, but in this issue, we learn she is much more haunted by the events of the series than she lets on.

Fun graphic novel with great art and some unexpected twists! I Iike the teenage viewpoint too.
And this... This did not help.
Was there really no other way of indicating that these are teenagers playing a MMPORG?
My brother‘s home from his week at our mom‘s and just opened his gifts from me, which included this tee shirt and pajama pants 🥰 Now we‘re watching the first ep of Marvel‘s Runaways together as a way of getting back to normal.
Rereading Runaways this month!
Pretty excited because most of them are available on #hoopla 😍🤩 #novemberReads
Pure comic book fun! I can‘t wait until my hold on the next trade comes in!
Lane is happily cuddling with “baby sister” while he watches a nursery rhymes show- which means I got to try out the first couple issues of Runaways!
So my first book of 2018 was actually a comic!!! I learned how to take comics out on hoopla which is not my favorite way to read them but works if I don‘t want to buy it or wait for the print version from the library! I really liked this one, I‘m super into the TV show and it was cool to see what they kept and what they got rid of. Definite pick!
Excited to dive into the new Runaways (love anything by Rainbow Rowell) but I've been told to start with the original comic. So, here goes.
I picked this series up in a sale recently. I forgot how good it was. Very fun and interesting concept about if your parents really were evil.
Day 21: Multiethnic. For this I chose two comics and two prose books. Lumberjanes has a very ethnically diverse group, and while this cover doesn't show it, Runaways is too. The two books are too, Pachinko is Korean-Japanese and Funny in Farsi author married a Frenchman. #junebookbugs @RealLifeReading
Had to move this up my TBR after Rainbow Rowell announced she'd be writing new issues!
I woke up to this BEAUTIFUL NEWS! I'm literally unable to cope with this. So I guess I'm rereading the first run in preparation
Digital copies of all five volumes are $.99! This is one of my very favorite comics of ever. It's about a group of teen and preteen kids in the Marvel Universe who find out their parents are super villains and deside to thwart their parents evil plans. It's pretty much great.
If you're looking for a stereotypical teenage angsty comic, this is it. It wasn't horrible, it was just a miss for me. I think if I had read this when I was a teenager rather than a 26 year old, I would have liked it a lot more. However, some of the dialogue that is spoken by the parents was just so condescending and ridiculous...that I certainly wouldn't have liked no matter what age.
This comic about a group of kids who suddenly realize their parents are super villains is really resonating right now.
#bestkids that would be my son 😀😀 also i guess i would pick Runaways, especially Molly #octphotochallenge @LibrarianRyan
My favorite comic of all time.
Highly recommended if you love its writer, Brian K. Vaughan (Saga, Y: The Last Man), its artist, Adrian Alphona (Ms. Marvel), the X-Men or Ultimate Spider-Man at their best, or if you think writing five to eight different teenagers with completely distinct voices is the most impressive thing. So funny, so surprising, so filled with cliffhangers.
Fantastic characters, great plot!
Loved this group of kids and the story told. It's fun, smart and full of action. Like the best stories this left me wanting more! Can't wait to read the next volume!
This just kept getting weirder in the best way. Definitely have to go read vol. 2!
