Time-travelling, dimension-jumping, Librarian-spy Irene and dragon-prince Kai will have to team up with an unlikely band of misfits to pull off an amazing art heistor risk the wrath of a dangerous villain with a secret island lair. A Librarians work is never done, and Irene is summoned to the Library. The world where she grew up is in danger of veering deep into chaos, and she needs to obtain a particular book to stop this from happening. Her only choice is to contact a mysterious Fae information-broker and trader of rare objects: Mr. Nemo. Irene and Kai make their way to Mr. Nemos remote Caribbean island and are invited to dinner, which includes unlikely company. Mr. Nemo has an offer for everyone there: he wants them to steal a specific painting from a specific world. But to get their reward, they will have to form a team, including a dragon techie, a Fae thief, a gambler, a driver, and the muscle. Their goal? The Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, in an early twenty-first-century world, where their toughest challenge might be each other.

I don't seek out heist books, but can now confirm a fantasy book with a heist subplot can be a good time. Getting the team together meant an engaging new cast of characters introduced, and the shenanigans Irene and Kai get themselves into and out of continues to be highly diverting. 1/2

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 As much as it added to the tension in the background, I was glad that political machinations among and between the dragons, fae and library took somewhat of a back seat for this book. I enjoyed the dive into dragon lore, the direction the end suggests for the next book in the series.
I am still seriously peeved that Vale has been sidelined, yet again. 🙄

Book 6!

A Heist!!! This time Irene and Kai are part of a heist to steal a painting. As always, it all starts out with a book that needs retrieval. And, as always, things go pear-shaped soonish.

Excellent continuation in the “Invisible Library” series, with the usual fast paced antics and adventures.

Book 6 of the Invisible Library series is just as fantastic as the rest. 5 stars!
This series involves worlds of Fae, Dragons, Humans and Librarians all trying to coexist. There are worlds of chaos and worlds of order. And in the middle of it all is a not so average Librarian named Irene.
Cogman is an incredible writer who easily wraps up the reader in adventure. Her writing is so smart and her love of books shines.
Read these books!

I read this between Mar 24 & June 6 & rated it 3.5 ⭐️. I think my problem getting into this book is that the series has become too focused on action and the answers are slowly drawn out. I still enjoyed the book and the characters but I am getting a little weary of how drawn out this series is becoming. For every answer we get, I feel we get more questions.

This was a five star read and most anything I can say would be a spoiler 😂.
However this is an excellent summer read and I enjoyed every moment.

Some of the books I love. Some I liked. This one goes into the love column. Fun characters. Suspense. And a kick-ass, cool librarian.

4/5💚s

Another non-stop, action packed addition to the series. Usually these books read like a mystery to solve, however this one focuses on a heist and the mystery is wtf went wrong and why?!?! There weren‘t as many Irene & Kai romantic moments (understandably) as I‘d have liked but the ones that made it in were giggle worthy & heartwarming. You learn a little more about both Kai & Irene‘s families but not enough to put all the pieces together.

Now that I‘ve caught my breath after the Renegades trilogy I can dig into book 6 of the Invisible Library series. *squee* 😁😍
