It‘s here! #BookMail and #BlameItOnLitsy selection I saw @TheAromaofBooks post about. I peeked inside at various pages and it‘s gorgeous. May just read in small bites. I‘m not painting any time soon, so I can savor the advice here.

I first bought, read, and loved this book back in 2020. Now that we're getting ready to move and I have an entire house to update, it seemed like a great time to revisit it. Atwood just does a fantastic job with this book. She gives you the science behind color and our perception of it, then moves into the more emotional aspect of it - somehow, she stays out of woo-woo land by encouraging readers to ground the way they feel about colors with ⬇
We're in the process of doing some work on the house and painting is one of the next steps. So this was really helpful in thinking about color theory and how we want our house to feel with different color choices.

I love this idea!! The #Pantone2022 challenge is all about finding covers that match Panton's spring/summer colors (fall/winter pallet coming later in the year). Check out @Clwojick's page for more details!!
The hardest part of singing up for #NewYearWhoDis is narrowing down the books I would recommend, especially since my genres hop around a lot. For instance, I definitely included the tagged book, which as it's a nonfiction book about using color in your home decor, is really outside my usual realm - but I LOVED It!

It's really hard to pick a book that's taught me something, since I feel like every book teaches me something (even if it's just, “Wow, don't ever read that book again“ haha) The tagged book is one I read recently that seemed like it should have been fluff, but it ended up being really engaging. I've been using my color wheel a lot since I read it!
So obviously I thought I would like this book, or I wouldn't have bought it. But I ended up genuinely loving this one. Atwood starts with a scientific look at color, terms, the color wheel, texture, etc. The rest of the book is rather on the touchy-feely side, but because she has set everything up so well, I didn't mind. Color IS very emotional and visceral, and Atwood very thoughtfully takes her readers through the spectrum of colors ⬇️
Although I didn't have much reading time yesterday, it was enough to send me over my goal of 34hrs for #JumpStart2020!!
I've been spending some time soaking in this gorgeous book. Everything about it makes it SUCH a pleasure to read and handle. While I am fond of my Kindle, I can't imagine trying to read a book like this on it.
