One theory is that #FaceTheMusic originated from theatre, where performers had to literally face the music (the orchestra positioned in front of the stage, in this case) and overcome stage fright.

I‘ve been obsessed with blondie and Debbie Harry since I was a child after hearing them on the radio. I‘ve been waiting for the library to have the audiobook in and finally it‘s arrived. Although I have the hard copy I want to hear Debbie telling her story, it always gives the book more character in my opinion 😻
I‘m stumped 🤔 Im sure Debbie Harry aka Blondie, has an exciting story to tell, yet her memoir ( especially her delivery) was SO BLAND! Even when sharing scandalous bits, she lacks all emotions. I‘m not sure if she‘s truly too cool for school and nothing fazes her, or maybe she‘s just not a natural storyteller. I was hoping, waiting expecting MORE. 😕I did enjoy the musical trip down memory lane & got lost on YouTube watching old Blondie videos💕
Here is my winter 6 clockwise from Debbie ; cover love, hat on cover, read in a day, Hollywood, live and learn, and millennial. Definitely a good reading season and i think i have just started spring ( can anyone confirm what pan asian covers?) so should be able to post the first book of that most positive of seasons tomorrow (fingers crossed).

I dusted off my copy of parallel lines fir my schoolboy cover crush + a fascinating story of sex, drugs & rock and roll. Some stories are shocking and told with a detached voice which add to the impact, this is a woman who is an iconic image but an individual who survives celebratory and being treated as little more than a face when she is so much more. Well worth reading ⏬

Happy new year to all my litsy friends and happy reading in 2020 .
This is the first new years eve with all our daughters out at various parties so Alison and I finally got round to opening our Christmas presents to each other and i have found the answer to my winter cover crush category.
So often I forget the back cover of books has such great words. This book is beautiful. From the writing to the actual structure of the physical book, it‘s incredible. 💕
I‘ve been a fan of Debbie Harry since the 70‘s and was excited to hear her narrate this book. Her love of New York shines throughout her memoir, but otherwise it was so-so. I expected her to tell her story, but she just reads it. Many of her stories revolve around clothing. Overall, it felt impersonal.

I‘m a huge fan of the 70‘s New York punk scene and Debbie Harry. I was so excited to read this! I loved her stories about New York and the music scene. But I wish she would have been more detailed in some of her stories, like her break up with Chris Stein. She just sort of glazed over it. Overall I really enjoyed this book.
If Debbie felt like this, there‘s no chance for us mere mortals is there.
I really wasn't a fan of Blondie but I enjoyed the music when it came on.
I really enjoyed this.
It almost felt like Debbie was telling you her story.
I liked the fanart, it was a nice change
