I have read quite a few of Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli and Isles novels so though this could be a interesting read and something a bit different to try by her.

I'll be honest I was expecting a bit more horror and less fifty shades of ghost.

Part ghost story, part erotica, part mystery. I really thought this story was going to go full cheesy but Gerritson scaled it back when needed to make it more enjoyable story without completely rolling your eyes. Easy quick ghost story for the season although not scary at all.

Starting my December book very early! Hoping to squeeze in two or three bonus books. 👻

Even now I still dream about Brodie‘s Watch, and the nightmare is always the same.

Gerristen managed to combine paranormal and soft erotica in one weird novel, #disturbing. However, I was after a book that truly scared me, a proper horror that this isn't.
Attempting to show that living people are more harmful then the dead, which would've worked if the villain wasn't a bland "nice guy" that you read on reddit.
Enjoyable but I didn't LOVE it, and I probably wouldn't read it again.
Summarising in two words: weirdly disturbing.

Hallmark Channel meets 50 Shades of Grey in this small town girl runs from probs, meets eligible doc & rents a haunted house mystery. It's a weird mix of moods & unfortunately predictable. Scary or sexy? You can decide.

I love Tess Gerritsen. This is my favorite of all. A little bit paranormal with a murder mystery.
Awesome if you like this kind of story.

A few years ago I was a big fan of Tess Gerritsen's Rizzole and Isles books. I loved her medical based thrillers but hadn't read any of her recent books in a while. Then a work friend gave me this to read saying it wasn't like her others but she thought I would enjoy it. Whilst I did enjoy it, I didn't find to be particularly gripping or page turning but nor was it a DNF. I was interested enough to see how it would unfold.

Thank God this was a short one! The main character is unlikeable and the entire plot is predictable. Also, I feel like the story is suffering from an identity crisis. Is it a ghost story or is it a murder mystery? Honestly, I could have dealt without the paranormal element since it is executed so poorly by the author. This is the first book I have read by Gerristen and I think it will be my last. 😞

I thought this would be an atmospheric gothic mystery like Du Maurier's Rebecca, but instead it turned out to be a ghost story with a really transparent mystery. I knew by page two what had happened to the previous tenant, while the big reveal didn't happen until halfway through and I was supposed to be surprised.

The ghost story may appeal to some but it's not what I pick up a Tess Gerritsen for.

I‘ve been a fan of Tess Gerritsen‘s books for years and love the Rizzoli and Isles series. The Shape Of Night is something completely different. Ava is running away from guilt. She decides to rent a large home in Tucker Cove, a small town on the cost of Maine, at first she‘s intimidated by the size of the house, but once inside she feels the house wants her to stay. What is Ava running from? And who is the dark figure she sees from a distance

OK, this book was not what I was expecting. But to be honest, I had no preconceptions as I did not read the blurb about it. 😆🙄🤭 Based on the cover, I assumed it was a thriller (which it was), however it was also a ghost/entity story and a murder mystery with some BDSM thrown in for good measure (nothing too graphic). 😳🤔 Needless to say I was a bit surprised. While the writing/story was fine, ⬇️

This is a new-to-me author...any fans out there? Coming out 10/1
