Doctor Who: Judgement of the Judoon
Doctor Who: Judgement of the Judoon | Colin Brake
4 posts | 2 read | 3 to read
Elvis the King Spaceport has grown into the sprawling city-state of New Memphis - an urban jungle, where organised crime is rife. But the launch of the new Terminal 13 hasn't been as smooth as expected. And things are about to get worse... When the Doctor arrives, he finds the whole terminal locked down. The notorious Invisible Assassin is at work again, and the Judoon troopers sent to catch him will stop at nothing to complete their mission. With the assassin loose on the mean streets of New Memphis, the Doctor is forced into a strange alliance. Together with teenage private eye Nikki and a ruthless Judoon Commander, the Doctor soon discovers that things are even more complicated - and dangerous - than he first thought... Featuring the Tenth Doctor as played by David Tennant in the hit Doctor Who BBC Television series.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and a 🦏
This was one of the best Who books I've read (and I've read lots). I didn't expect to like one so much that didn't have one of the regular companions, but I loved the two tagalongs from this one so much I'd like to read more of their stories after the Doctor left.

Book 2 for #scarathlon #teamhendrix

Read-y_Picker I‘ve been looking for Pre-loved or library Who books for ages. Seems they‘re not a thing here. And it‘s daunting trying to figure out where to start as there are so many. Have some suggestions of other favourites @Traci1 ? 3y
Traci1 @Read-y_Picker I've gotten quite a few from Thriftbooks. The quality varies, but I've been mostly lucky. As for where to start, I started with my favorite Doctor, 10. Autonomy was my first, and is one of my favorites. He was solo on that one. 3y

Traci1 @Read-y_Picker some other favorites are Beautiful Chaos (10 and Donna, my favorite pair) and Glamour Chase (11 and the Ponds), both by Gary Russell - highly recommend him. Also, Good Doctor (13 and her companions). Authors I like are Una McCormack, Trevor Baxendale, and Jacqueline Rayner. I've mostly only read the new adventures, so if you like the first 8 Doctors, I don't have any advice for those. 3y
Read-y_Picker @Traci1 that‘s great! I love 10 and Donna but ESPECIALLY 11 and the Ponds. I‘ll start looking for those authors, thanks!!! 3y
Traci1 @Read-y_Picker for 11 and the Ponds, I also loved The Forgotten Army and The Way through the Woods. I also recommend the Big Finish audio productions. And if you have audible, you can sometimes find sets of particular doctor adventures with multiple books for 1 credit. The audios are usually well done. 3y
RamsFan1963 @Traci1 I didn't care for The Glamour Chase, but I agree with you on the rest. When it comes to modern day companions, my choices (in descending order) are Amy & Rory, Donna, Rose, Martha, Bill Potts and Claire. I'm probably one of the few Who fans that didn't like Claire much. 3y
Twainy Great book! These audiobooks for the little hardcover books are THE BEST!! I LOVE the ones Catherine Tate & David Tenant narrate! I also LOVE the Big Finish radio plays and the BBC recording. Doctor Who 🖤🖤🖤 3y
Traci1 @RamsFan1963 she is my least favorite too. I didn't like her with 11 or 12. 3y
Traci1 @Twainy Catherine and David are just so good together. ❤ 3y

The title is misleading, makes it sound like the Judoon, galactic law enforcers, are the villains of the story, but actually one turns out to be a hero who saves many lives.
Good solid Doctor Who adventure, a little comedy, a bit of mystery and a nice bit of action. The 10th Doctor will always be my favorite. 4 💥💥💥💥

RamsFan1963 @LazyOwl I liked Matt Smith too, but when the 10th Doctor regenerated I cried hard!! 5y
LazyOwl "I don't want to go." 5y
Laughterhp David Tennant is my favorite, but I definitely liked Matt Smith too. A solid 2nd favorite! 5y
