Champion: A Legend Novel | Marie Lu
The explosive finale to Marie Lu's New York Times bestselling LEGEND trilogy--perfect for fans of THE HUNGER GAMES and DIVERGENT! He is a Legend. She is a Prodigy.Who will be Champion? June and Day have sacrificed so much for the people of the Republic--and each other--and now their country is on the brink of a new existence. June is back in the good graces of the Republic, working within the government's elite circles as Princeps Elect while Day has been assigned a high level military position. But neither could have predicted the circumstances that will reunite them once again. Just when a peace treaty is imminent, a plague outbreak causes panic in the Colonies, and war threatens the Republic's border cities. This new strain of plague is deadlier than ever, and June is the only one who knows the key to her country's defense. But saving the lives of thousands will mean asking the one she loves to give up everything he has. This is a great series, and I really liked the ending. It was the original ending to the trilogy and I‘m wondering if Rebel is worth reading or not! Not sure if I‘ll pick it up but I‘m so glad I found Marie Lu. Taking recs if anyone has read any of her other books, what should I read next?

If I'd known that this was where this trilogy was headed, I might not have put off the third book for so long. It was fast-paced, interesting, and emotional in ways that I didn't expect. June and Day's choices are difficult, but they've grown into characters that handle those choices gracefully. Despite the fact that the ending made me ask a lot of questions, I found it satisfying and enjoyed it far more than the previous two.

Champion, has simply got to be my favourite book in the series. The characters who I have formed a bond with, seem to come out of their original labels and turn into something more. Day, who through out the book fights for his life, I will always feel connected to, because even though he‘s a character, makes me see the world in a different way. The grief in this book hits me like a bus, but I will forever be thankful, for just picking it up.

Marie Lu could not have ended June and Day‘s story any better. Heartbreakingly beautiful ending. This might be my favorite of the trilogy. If you like YA dystopia, this is a solid series to get into.

A fitting end to a trilogy that was ahead of its time (plagues? A warring America? Sounds familiar). June & Day‘s relationship finally feels earned and mature to me — and the ending is realistic (for YA at least). My only complaint would be the stakes were so high and were resolved rather quickly. But overall, a great quick read series.

Again, #DoubleSpin first. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

This was probably the best of the whole series. It started with action and suspense and ended pretty much the same way. It was really good. I know there is a fourth book but I like this third book so much I am not@motivated to read the fourth book. It feels unnecessary because this ending is so final. The ending was absolutely beautiful! 🙂

🎧 I liked this installment of the Legend series! I‘m wait listed for Rebel now. I think I like this one more than the last. I loved the description of Antarctica, it made me want to live there. If you liked the other books you‘ll like this one too! Recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/3

Solid finish. I had problems with the ending, but that's on me. Fun trilogy.

madamereadsalot1 I've had the first book for many, many years and have still not read it. It was gifted to me when I was experiencing YA burnout. Would you highly recommend reading it? 5y
Exbrarian @madamereadsalot1 I don't think I would highly recommend reading it. That said, I read all 3 of them back to back in a week or so. Certainly seems that I found them compelling. I liked the first one. Really liked the second one. I found the third one frustrating, but I can totally see how it could be satisfying to a certain kind of reader... I just wanted something completely different to happen. You could certainly do worse. 5y

GUYS OKAY THIS SERIES IS THE MASTER OF PLOT TWISTS AND HEARTBREAKS BUT THIS ONE BLEW THE OTHER TWO OUT OF THE WATER AND THAT IS ALL I NEED TO SAY. Except that I though this was a trilogy and the ending was hard to read but there‘s going to be a fourth book so IT‘S ALL OKAY!!

Man did I ugly cry at the end of this trilogy (idk why I blubber over YA!). I wish I had known it would end this way so I could brace myself but it happened haha it was an epic ending that I feel didn't quite close because I want to know more after such a tragedy... Boy. I haven't felt so hooked by a series in a long time. #legendtrilogy #champion #dayandjune

This book was not bad. But it was very (too much) unrealistic [teenagers must handle the warfare and save the day] and too long [it just felt like it was dragging on and on as if it would never end]. There were illogical things, lame phrases, poor metaphors...

While aspects of this felt a bit predictable, overall I liked that Day and June's story wasn't completely resolved. There was room at the end for you to imagine what happens, which is one of my favorite kinds of endings for a series. The series overall definitely didn't disappoint.

What an ending! I admit there were tears. There was a real possibility of this series being more predictable than it ended up. The author took the story in directions that I didn't expect. An enjoyable read for the start of my summer break!
