I have a lot of favourite stories from this collection, but Dagon is definitely one that sticks out. My other favourites were The Outsider, Herbert West Reanimated, Cool Air and The Thing On The Doorstep.Whilst I had conflicted feelings I've decided I did enjoy them, they're just drawn out/ different to what I thought they would be. I'd reccomend for a spooky/ gothic collection of stories with dark atmospheres, perfect for gloomy rainy days!

“Only poetry or madness could do justice to the noises heard.” Found this H.P. Love craft collection at the “for sale” section of the library. These old stories are still a good read. If anyone is looking for horror , I recommend Mr. Lovecraft.

✨Here's a small book haul from my Omaha trip.. some are from B&N and some are from that lovely bookstore I found! 📚
✨I'm excited for Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling!) and I also picked up my first one of Cassandra Clare's books, which I have no idea the order of any of her books- gotta start somewhere! 😆
✨Fallout by Ellen Hopkins is a signed edition that I found at the used bookstore! One happy girl to have found that!💜

#Riotgrams Day 21: #CoolSpines Cthulhu is cool, but the real horror story is Lovecraft's prejudice.

This was free on my Nook so I thought I would try it since I had never read any of his stuff before. Still working my way through, but I am pretty horrified by the racism right now & had to take a break. 😖

This is my pick for #CreepyCovers, there's just something about Cthulhu and tentacle creatures in general that give me the hee-bee-gee-bees! (Is that right? How do you spell that?)

#Booktober

I try to read on every single break at work. Our break room has 2 televisions and they are always on, usually showing high brow, intellectual entertainment such as Jerry Springer or a soap opera. Certain people like to crank up the volume. One woman in particular does it specifically when she sees me reading. Then she sits near me and talks very loudly on her phone. She smirks when she can tell it annoys me. 😡

RanaElizabeth I don't know, people who read are pretty suspicious. I wouldn't trust them either, good on your coworker to try to interrupt you. 😉 8y
LeahBergen You need to print this quote out to hang on your book during breaks. 😂 8y

Daisey Somewhere I once saw book covers with something similar printed on them so you could actually wrap it around the book. Seems like something you could use! 8y
DeeLew Unfortunately, a do not disturb sign would only make them get louder. 😳 8y
Shemac77 Oooohhhhh! I like to go on about how people who listen to tv on volume 2 million and don't know how to read a book are evolutionary deadends. I then smirk and continue reading even if I can't focus enough. They eventually realize that they're the asshole. 8y
DeeLew @Shemac77 that sounds like me! 😂👍🏻 8y
britt_brooke @Shemac77 😂👏🏻👏🏻 8y
Amandajoy Some people are jerks. Try unplugging the tv & see how long it takes for someone to figure it out 😉 8y
Dragon Some people are so silly, sorry you have to put up with that childish behaviour 🙁 8y
the.bookish.valkyrie That's ridiculous, what an a**hat! too bad she isn't a college roommate, blue dye in a shower head and powdered sugar between sheets would be perfect right about now! Equally immature, but establishes that she's not untouchable. I may have had some terrible roommates in college... 8y

Thank you, thank you, thank you @BooksTeasAndBookishThings for this beautiful package! I'm in love with all of it. Seriously, no picture will do the The Raven page justice; it is absolutely stunning! I've already dipped into the tea. I couldn't help myself. ☺️

BooksTeasAndBookishThings Yay!!! So glad you like it! Especially the bookends, I wanted there to be one surprise! =) let me know which teas you like! I agree, I just love those antiquated pages. I have a few and they may be featured in more giveaways. ;) 9y
winemom @BooksTeasAndBookishThings YES! Those were such a great surprise! I have a floating shelf in my bedroom that's pretty short and books just slip off, so those will come in really handy. (: 9y
