#midyearfaves Days 1-10 (with a little cheat using Deborah Levy‘s memoirs as a twofer!)
Thanks for the inspiration @BarbaraBB @vivastory
I loved seeing your picks too 💕📚

vivastory Great idea putting them altogether! Thanks for sharing 3y
BkClubCare Oh! So is/are the Levy memoirs great? I can‘t recall why I have her on my radar but these are moving up my tbr. 3y
BarbaraBB Great collage. I have taken a screenshot! 3y
KarenUK @BkClubCare They are fantastic…. And stand alone too, so don‘t need to be read in any order. I loved the novel Hot Milk by her, which led me to these 💕 3y
BkClubCare @KarenUK - will be looking for all 3 then. Thx 3y

I‘m not a statistician so don‘t hold me to my calculations, but according to my findings these are the Littens #Top6Reads so far in 2019. Almost all female authors! Thanks to everyone who shared their lists, my TBR has once again reached epic proportions. It was great seeing all the different titles and I‘m excited to see what the second half of the reading year produces.

monalyisha That's fun! 5y
TrishB Cool 👍🏻 thanks for doing. I‘ve read 3 and have the other 3 on the pile! 5y
Cinfhen 146 posts x 6 books = 876 books so LOTS of diversity @monalyisha @TrishB ❣️❣️❣️❣️ 5y
See All 29 Comments
squirrelbrain Ooh I love a good statistic! (Being a squirrel AND an accountant I can‘t help it!) I‘ve read 4, have Boyne on my Kindle and will read Rooney soon too... 5y
Cinfhen I‘ve read 4 too @squirrelbrain I have Crawdads on my Kindle and I‘m still on hold at library for 5y
merelybookish Fun to see! Thanks for doing the stats! 😀 5y
britt_brooke 🤩 Interesting! I‘ve read all except My Sister the Serial Killer (but I own it). Becoming and A Ladder to the Sky were both 5 star reads for me. The others were 2-3 stars. (edited) 5y
Freespirit I better get cracking...I haven't read any of these 🙄📚 5y
Melissa_J I‘m currently in the middle of My Sister the Serial Killer, but I haven‘t read any of the others. I‘ll probably get around to reading a few of these, but it likely won‘t be until a few years from now when everyone else has moved on to something else 😂 5y
Chelsea.Poole I've read all of these and have loved them all♥️ several didn't make my top 6 that are on this list but I considered all of them! 5y
MallenNC Thanks for doing the totals. This is fun to see. Becoming was on my list and I have three of the others TBR. 5y
LeahBergen Why did none of my (weird old) top six make this list? 😆😂 5y
Bookzombie Thanks for doing this! I‘m shocked that I have read half of them: Becoming, Daisy Jones and the Six, and My Sister, the Serial Killer. 5y
BarbaraBB Thanks! I am shocked that I read five of them. What a cliché I am ? 5y
erzascarletbookgasm Thanks for the stats! Interesting and fun to know. Gee, I‘ve only read the Boyne. I‘ll get to Becoming and Normal People soon! 🤞😁 5y
Cinfhen Out of 876 books posted only 18 people choose the same book to make it the favorite (which is a small number I think) which proves that Littens read all over the map @merelybookish @britt_brooke @Freespirit @Melissa_J @Chelsea.Poole @MallenNC @LeahBergen @Bookzombie @BarbaraBB @erzascarletbookgasm I‘ve read 4 2 were 5 stars ( but Ladder wasn‘t on my list because I read it in 2018) and the other 2 Daisy & Normal were only 3 star reads for me🤪👇🏼 5y
Cinfhen Proving that we all judge/ relate/feel books differently even when we read the same book!! That‘s why I love Litsy!!! 5y
BarbaraBB Great stats! 5y
Cathythoughts Well done ! That‘s really interesting 👍🏻 5y
AnneCecilie I‘ve read 4 and 3 even made my best of list. Becoming will arrive from the library sometime soon. Guess that mean that I have to check out My Sister the Serial Killer at some point 5y
Cinfhen My Sister was on my list so you must read it @AnneCecilie although @Cathythoughts bailed on it, so who knows?!??! I‘m also waiting for Becoming from my library ~ I think I‘m down to 28 from 164!!! 5y
Cathythoughts From these ones I loved Normal People & Crawdads ( you loved Crawdads to @Cinfhen .... right ? 5y
Cinfhen I haven‘t read that one yet @Cathythoughts it‘s on my kindle but im worried all the hype might make my expectations too high 5y
Cathythoughts I listened to Crawdads on Audible... it was a lovely listen 👍🏻 5y
Rachel_nyc I love that you did this! Two of mine are on there and three others are on my TBR so I guess I should look into the outlier that‘s not on my radar. 5y
Cinfhen Which one are you missing @Rachel_nyc ?!?! 5y
Rachel_nyc @Cinfhen A Ladder to the Sky didn‘t sound familiar but then I check my goodreads TBR and sure enough, it‘s there! 🤣 5y
Cortg I‘m just now seeing this! Thanks for this list. There are 2 I haven‘t read yet. One was already on my TBR and the other one I just added! Perfect! (edited) 5y

I had four 5-star reads and lots of 4-star ones. So I picked a couple of 4s and bumped them to 5s. Here are my #top6reads for 2019 so far. My four nonfiction choices would qualify for my #resistlist, so I guess that‘s my theme. And the debut author, along with my current “favorite.”

Thanks for starting this post @Cinfhen —it‘s been fun to see people‘s choices. #top6

MallenNC It has been fun to see everyone‘s picks! 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @MallenNC It has! And making my TBR longer, as usual. 5y
catebutler Love seeing everyone‘s picks! I especially love all the non-fiction in yours. Isn‘t it funny to see what‘s made our lists so far!? I‘m quite an eclectic reader, so I was surprised to find many of mine fell under the same umbrella. Must be the mood I‘ve subconsciously been in. 5y

nelehelen I looooved ladder to the sky! 5y
MallenNC @BarbaraTheBibliophage Oh yes! It‘s a constant problem. But I love it. 5y

My #Top6Reads so far! Based upon my choices, it would appear I have a bit of a theme - largely backlist, all female authors and mostly feel good, nostalgic reads. As I went through my Goodreads challenge to pick these, it surprised me that 1/2 were five stars, and the other three were rated a high 4 stars. Out of the 54 books I‘ve read so far this year, only four, five star reads total. I‘m stingy with five stars apparently!

BarbaraTheBibliophage I‘m star stingy also. I had 4 5-star books in my 70+ books. You‘ve got some good ones on your list! 5y
catebutler @BarbaraTheBibliophage I‘m glad to be in good company! 😊 I base my rating on the Goodreads system, so a three star is a good rating for me, since it‘s a book I enjoyed and liked, five stars are extra special and one of a kind books. I‘d say most of the books I really enjoy and would highly recommend usually fall under a four star rating. I seem to have quite a few of those! 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @catebutler I rate my books essentially the same way. A year with mostly 4-star books is a good reading year. Too many 3s in a row gets old, even though I like them. I try to find 4s and 5s. 5y
See All 13 Comments
LeahBergen I own 5 of these 6 books. 😆 I loved Mrs Tim, Miss Buncle, and Frederica, too. 💕 Jane is coming up soon for me! (edited) 5y
catebutler @LeahBergen I always love how similar our reading tastes are! I can‘t wait to see what you think of Jane. I loved her! 5y
Freespirit Some fabulous books there Cate❤️ 5y
catebutler @Freespirit Thank you! It was so fun to go through what I‘ve read so far this year! Can‘t wait to see how the last half of the year shapes up. 📚 5y
erzascarletbookgasm I guess I‘m a little generous with GR ratings. I always round them up. I love nostalgia reads. 5y
catebutler @erzascarletbookgasm I give lot‘s of half stars, although a three star book is good in my opinion, so anything at a 3 or above is a good read to me! 5y
Cinfhen Wow!!! Even your book covers seem to share a similarity ❤️I‘m generally VERY STINGY with 5 stars #starscrooge but I had a bunch of 5 Star memoirs this reading year!!!!! 5y
Cathythoughts The Library Book is one is like yo read too ♥️👍🏻 5y
catebutler @Cinfhen I thought the same thing! And, that must mean they were exceptionally good! I‘ll have to go back and take a look at which memoirs you especially loved! 5y
catebutler @Cathythoughts It‘s wonderful! It made me love and appreciate libraries and books even more! 5y

My #top6reads for the first half of 2019.
This year has flown by, can't believe we are halfway there already! There have been some exceptional books in my life. I narrowed it down to these, which happen to be half fiction and half nonfiction! I'm surprised because I don't read that much nonfiction, but everything I have read has been great lately! Thanks @Cinfhen 😊

Chelsea.Poole Ps -- this book isn't getting nearly enough love, it's amazing historical fiction--> 5y
Crazeedi @Chelsea.Poole oh I absolutely adored this book! I actually sent a copy to my best friend, who is Italian! I have been raving about this book 5y

Chelsea.Poole @Cinfhen oh my goodness I was totally blown away by Fatherless Girls. Just amazing ♥️ 5y
Chelsea.Poole @cinfhen @HOTPock3tt I'm in love w Stella and hopefully I'm not making everyone's expectations too high, but it really touched me. Hope you all enjoy her as much as I did ♥️ 5y
Chelsea.Poole @Cathythoughts I really enjoyed Inheritance -- it encompasses so many aspects: history, current DNA technology, family relationships and more. Loved it. 5y
Cinfhen I really want to pick up Stella but if my hubby sees another book charge he might literally FREAK OUT 5y
Crazeedi @Cinfhen I read it on overdrive or I would have sent it to you! I hear you on the book buying, I went on a little binge, so have to count pennies for a bit!😉 5y
Cinfhen Thanks @Crazeedi it‘s not like I don‘t have what to read!! I‘ll get to it eventually 😜 5y

My #top6reads for the half way mark. Golden State because the way it put me in the protagonist‘s head, Phineas Finn because I ❤️ Trollope, The Name of the Rose was a re-read that totally held up, Warlight because I realized I love Ondaatje‘s style, The Maze at Windermere was engrossing historical fiction and The Magician‘s Nephew was magic! Thanks for the tag @BarbaraBB . If you‘re so inclined, I tag @Cathythoughts and @batsy

Rachel_nyc I need to move The Maze at Windermere higher up on my TBR. 5y
Ruthiella @Rachel_nyc I‘ve made a real effort this year to read those long listed TOB books that looked tempting but didn‘t make the cut. Windermere was one of them.😀 5y

Great idea @Cinfhen to report on our year so far 😊 #top6reads
Mine has been informed by my year of reading SFF for sure. The top 3 were brilliant - I‘ve completed or nearly completed the series for the two on the right.
At the bottom we have an excellent historical novel, a funny paranormal family versus the mob romp and a really moving literary novella. I‘ll tag them in the comments.
