#wondrouswednesday @Eggs Thanks for the tag. 1. My grandma and mom were great readers - my grandma introduced me to mystery novels and my first book boyfriend Hercule Poirot. 2. Andy Weir , Blake Crouch , Sarah J Maas 3. I‘m a mood reader so not in a book club. Reading the tagged ebook thanks to Libby

Eggs Thanks for joining in 🙌🏻📚🥳 2y

Thank you so much Helen! It‘s so funny how we‘ve never met but you know me so well! Two of my favorite food writers, and I don‘t own either book! I feel well and truly spoiled…. 💕💕💕
(Ps. I‘m planning a trip to uk next year, so maybe we can meet up?🤞😉) @squirrelbrain

squirrelbrain Phew, I honestly thought you‘d have bought the Ottolenghi…! I loved the Cloake; I‘d love to pootle round France with her. I read that one as an ARC when it first came out. Hope you‘re having a lovely birthday! 😘 And a definite yes to a meet up next year! 3y

This is the first piece of travel non-fiction I've read in a long time, mainly out of a desire to imagine I am genuinely anywhere other than my own sofa...

Overall, it's an enjoyable read if you are specifically interested in French food or cycling, but otherwise might teeter into being a bit repetitive and possibly pretentious.

I loved this travelogue where the author, a food writer, cycles around France eating lots of lovely French food.

She has a particular enthusiasm for croissants 🥐 and tastes as many as she can, marking them out of 5. Her passion for croissants is infectious and by the end of the book I wanted to be her friend!

Would you like to play this week? @rockpools @MicheleinPhilly @KarenUK

KVanRead Sounds delicious 😋 Thanks for playing!! 4y

Thanks goodness for Kindles! I‘ve been stuck on a train just outside Leeds for 2 and a half hours now... there‘s been a major incident in the station and the whole northern rail network has ground to a halt.

Finished one book and 36% of the way through the tagged book, which I‘m enjoying so far....

LapReader Thank god for books! 6y
TrishB Yep, kindle win there! 6y

julesG Hope the trains are running again. 6y
squirrelbrain They did eventually @julesG, but a 3 hour journey instead of 35 mins.... 😬 6y
ShyBookOwl This is the magic of kindle. Hope everyone is ok and u can get moving soon! 6y
IamIamIam Ooh, that's the worst!! Once, my husband got stuck about 100 feet away from the platform at our station! He was so mad & said he could have literally gotten off the train and walked home! 😖 Good thing you had backup! Lol 6y
eraderneely Real glad I didn‘t need the train today! 6y
MicheleinPhilly @IamIamIam I‘ve had that happen before! We were stuck for 2 hours and the whole time I was thinking, “JUST OPEN THE DOORS SO I CAN WALK!” 😡 6y
IamIamIam @MicheleinPhilly Ugh!! It's the worst! 6y
julesG @IamIamIam @MicheleinPhilly Happened to me, too. So often. Missed my connections. 6y
squirrelbrain @eraderneely - yes, good job! They were still a bit ‘all over the place‘ on the way home again... 6y
