The Power of Six
The Power of Six | Pittacus Lore
I've seen him on the news. Followed the stories about what happened in Ohio. John Smith, out there, on the run. To the world, he's a mystery. But to me . . . he's one of us. Nine of us came here, but sometimes I wonder if time has changed usif we all still believe in our mission. How can I know? There are six of us left. We're hiding, blending in, avoiding contact with one another . . . but our Legacies are developing, and soon we'll be equipped to fight. Is John Number Four, and is his appearance the sign I've been waiting for? And what about Number Five and Six? Could one of them be the raven-haired girl with the stormy eyes from my dreams? The girl with powers that are beyond anything I could ever imagine? The girl who may be strong enough to bring the six of us together? They caught Number One in Malaysia. Number Two in England. And Number Three in Kenya. They tried to catch Number Four in Ohioand failed. I am Number Seven. One of six still alive. And I'm ready to fight.

After reading I am number four I wondered if this could keep the story as exciting, it has made it more exciting and introduces you to more characters with different legacies. There is a lot more action in this book than the first and I liked the way it flipped between number four and another character in Spain.

jinxmoon One of my favorite series! 5y

Continuing the story from "I Am Number 4" we see 4 (John Smith), Sam, and Six as they adventure forth looking for the other Loriens. They encounter lots of baddies where they seemingly almost die at every encounter and the baddies just seem to keep catching up with them. There's also a side plot involving the 7th Lorien. The book was good but I feel like it would probably make a better movie, just like the first one.

I am loving this series! I don‘t know why I put it off for so long! This book was action packed and I loved hearing both the POV from 4 & 7! More of the Lorien guards are coming together and their legacies are growing stronger! I can‘t wait to dive in to the next book and see what‘s gonna happen! Where are the other Lorien guards, I can‘t wait to find them too!

MinDea I really enjoyed this series! I have all the hardcover books for it and the books are very cool looking! 7y

The fiancé has been into this book series the past few days. I‘m so happy to see him reading again. Bonus - more reading time for me!

PenguinInFlight I love seeing my husband read. 😍 He doesn‘t read very often, but he‘s really into R. A. Salvatore‘s books, so when he has a new release featuring Drizzt, he will immerse himself in it for a few days. I‘m the reader, he‘s the gamer, although we each do both to a lesser extent. (I‘m not a very good gamer. Like at all. 😂But there are several games that I love and play, anyway.) 7y
jwashreads My husband is actually the one who got me into this series! 7y
Reviewsbylola Sounds like my husband. He goes through long dry spells and then suddenly is an avid reader for a bit. 7y

Ingerella I got my husband a Kindle a couple of months ago and now he's a changed man! We've been finding series that we can read together. We're currently reading the Themis Files together. Next up is Illuminae. I am loving it! 7y
SomedayAlmost Nonfiction & dense, technical SF are my hubby's favorites-so we rarely read the same authors! 7y
TheLibrarian @PenguinInFlight Same with me and my guy, I‘m the reader and he‘s the gamer. Occasionally I‘ll game with him but I much prefer reading. @jwashreads I haven‘t read it yet. I‘ve heard mixed reviews, is it good? 7y
TheLibrarian @Reviewsbylola Yep, our guys are alike when it comes to reading! @Ingerella That sounds wonderful! Very rarely do we read the same things, he likes very descriptive high fantasy novels and I just don‘t have the patience to read 3 pages describing a hill 🤣 7y
Ingerella @TheLibrarian That just made me laugh out loud!! 🤣 7y
jwashreads @TheLibrarian it's a good series, and I enjoyed it when I read it. It's a shame the movie didn't do well. Would have made a great movie series. 7y

It starts out a bit slow, on the run and meeting new characters, but ended with a bang as some questions left up in the air are answered and some new numbers surface, while loyal friends disappear.

Again, nothing to write home about, but if you want a light YA action and/or alien yarn, it may be what you‘re looking for. While the season may be busy, I‘m enjoying the purely escapist reading.

MinDea I enjoyed this series. Just a fun quick one. Have you read the tagged series? I think it is also a fun quick read! 7y
Beckys_Books Isn't James Frey one of the authors comprising Pitticus Lore? 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @MinDea I have not, but I have those sitting on my to-read shelf too👍 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Beckys_Books I don‘t know. I‘ll have to do some research now and see. 7y

Better than he first, if only because there was less teenage love crap :) A fun read with plenty of fighting action. On to the next!

Observation of the day: The author really likes the word "segue." Multiple uses over the course of 1 1/2 books so far.

Weird thing:that cover is very blue. Something about the lighting in my room and my phone's camera.

#dnf ! The writing was a little too immature for me, and I just couldn't keep following the story. I Am Number Four was decent, and I was really hoping the second book would fix all the problems in the first, and I was wrong. Haha. 😬

Does anybody know if you can post two pictures under the same book on here? Like, what if I have another picture of The Power of Six? 🤔

LinasLibrary i think it's no problem to post another picture for the same book ☺ 8y
e.c.vitoria You can. The "blurb" option is like a regular post option. but I'm pretty sure you can even post multiple "review"s of the same book. 8y

I liked the first one but 112 pages in to this one, I'm bored and I just don't care what happens.

Bookzombie It's been a while but I liked this one. However, I only gave The Rise of Nine two stars and I haven't continued with the series. 8y
