My afternoon read. I grew up loving The Dark Crystal and even watched the short lived series on Netflix (hate they canceled it) so I was looking forward to this graphic novel. The story takes place 100 years after Jen and Kira healed the crystal. After years of peaceful living they discover their planet Thra is sick and an alarming visitor shows up asking for help and threatening their existence.

It‘s been ages since I‘ve seen the film. This is apparently a sequel to the film, and I can‘t help but think it might have been helpful to watch it first. I loved the artwork but I still feel lost as to the plot. Here‘s hoping the next volume helps clarify. It gets a pick, though based on the art and nostalgia alone.

#LMPBC arrived today! Hmm...do I wait until this Sunday when I can sit and binge all three volumes, or do I start tonight? 🤔

So, what shall I be reading in July...too much. I plan to get as much of the picture read as possible, plus not pictured is Front Desk that I am a few chapters away from completing

The July #MGBuddyRead Playing Atari with Sadam Huseeen (I had to get a copy from the library)

and the challenge from @Trashcanman to read the first Rambo book. It is sitting on my work desk, but it will get done. YOU SHALL NOT BEAT ME!!! (insert maniacal laugh)

I have never reachined this high on #MountTBR before. I might just scale it this year.

Since this is my #LMPBC #groupU read I will not say much but I loved it. Can‘t wait to read the next volumes.

I really wanted to enjoy this book more than I did. I love The Dark Crystal and I wish this had focused more on Jen and Kira. Maybe the next two will. The illustrations were fantastic.
