Great crime novel by a great crime writer. I listened on audio and it was one of the better ones I‘ve listened to this year. Definitely worth trying. Overall rating: 4.34

Attempted this on audio. Not sure of it is the story, the narrator, or I'm not in the mood for a gritty crime drama. Moving on to something different.
This book feels like an entire season of a cop show told as a novel, with some stories running the length of the book and others wrapping in a single chapter. This is confusing at first, but soon you learn which names to remember and which ones won't factor into the main plot (there's also a parallel story that doesn't seem to connect to anything, but once it does things really click). This is a very good book, I'm glad I stuck with it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Closing out the year with this cop book from the author of Clockers (who's also written episodes of The Wire). Between this and The Book Of Dust, I should hit my 2017 reading goal by the end of the month.
#new to me this year. #30daysofreadathon. Maybe I can get to one of these, but I doubt it.
I'm about 100 pages in, and I'm kind of getting into it.
Also, I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what the point of a pen name is if you're going to also include your real name on the cover as the author. It makes me cringe a little. Anyone else feel the same way?
It's been a while since I read a crime thriller, and this one didn't disappoint. Price keeps you turning the page in anticipation. Believable characters and just the right amount of twists and turns.
It's been a while since I read a crime thriller. Stepping out of my usual genre and so far can't put this one down.

I love a gritty police procedural in the summer. I listened to this on audiobook (narrated by Ari Fliakos) and it is amazeballs.
We started this on audio for our road trip to Chicago from Ohio. Suffered through for 4 hours and gave up. It might be a better read, but as far as audio, I don't recommend.
Meaning of title gets revealed near the end of chapter 1. "Whites" are criminals who got away, leaving the cops who chased them obsessed with justice undone.
My flight to Houston had quite a few readers. Someone was reading this one and part of me wanted to ask how it was but the other part of me wanted to tell him not to fold down pages. He. Folded. Down. The. Pages. I decided to not say anything at all. I mean, use a quitter strip if you have to but don't fold down the pages. Poor book.
Another week end of #audiostitching. Finished a Darynda Jones book, and this one which I really enjoyed. Today I'm listening to 'Sleeping Giants' (I suspect there are a lot of Sleeping Littens today) while continuing on my surprise project. #LitsyStitchers
Cop thriller, crime drama. Excellent story telling about the life (past and present) of a NYC detective. This is my first book by Harry Brandt aka Richard Price. I need to read/listen more books by him. This audiobook was well narrated. 👍😬👍 #booktober #allthebooks
#AugustPhotoChallenge I don't keep a ton of books, but, still, I don't have very many with white spines?!
I just realized that if all you saw on my bookshelves were these, you would think that what I liked to do was grow weed and listen to music! 😂😂😂😂
If you're in the mood for crime fiction, this is a good one. I see they've updated the cover to show Richard Price as the author instead of the pseudonym Harry Brandt. I read that he regretted writing under a pen name.
Almost finished with The Whites, I think Martin Scorsese should make it into a movie.
Great audiobook. Wonderful narration of good mystery/thriller.
I always like a down and dirty cop story after a think-y book. This one come highly recommended. So far, so good.
