This is a re-read/listen so I can finish off the trilogy. Enjoyable and surprisingly violent.

#roll100 2022 wrap up! I read at least one pick 10 months, and all picks 5 months. I'm calling that pretty good!
My 2023 list is still my ebook tbr, but thanks mostly to #roll100 it now only goes to 92! And of course one of Jan's numbers was higher... So I decided 92-100 are freebies (unless/until I acquire more books) and I can fill it with any ebook tbr read. First up for this year, some sci-fi. Looking forward to it!
Thanks @PuddleJumper! 😁
🎧 OK another odd one ... sci-fi book. Well it‘s about people living on the moon. That & some of the technology is about as sci-fi as it gets. It‘s more about 5 big corporations feuding for power in a very political climate. It was ok & an interesting idea but I may have had enough of the feuding and there‘s just not enough character development. If any of this interests you thenI‘d say that it‘s a well written book so it might be for you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don't read too much science fiction but I like to get the odd science fiction book in when I can. This is a series I hope to find time to read at some point. This series instantly made me think of moonlight seeing as it is set on the moon.

I don't normally do a reread so soon (read this in 2016) but I wanted to refresh my memory on all of the characters and plotlines ahead of book 3 which is due in March. As a result, I remembered a lot more than I usually do when revisiting a novel. But that didn't hurt my enjoyment of Luna: New Moon, which I still consider one of the absolute best sci-fi books of recent years, and I can't wait to continue the story with Luna: Wolf Moon. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
For most of human history, migration has been a one-way trip. Old Portuguese families would hold funerals for children going off to a new life in Brazil. Agency is a comforting fairy story. Life is a series of doors that only open one way. We can never return. This is the world and we must live in it the best we can.
This is a reread -- I'm reading Luna: New Moon and Luna: Wolf Moon ahead of book three's March release. I'm enjoying it as much as I did the first time (three years ago this month) but I'm having an easier time keeping track of the sprawling cast and the many social, political, and legal concepts unique to this world.

What a coincidence! I've just finished the book, and then found these beautiful sticky notes in the mailbox. Such a timely delivery! 🖤
After Weir's Artemis Luna is just so good! The setting is so vivid. Moon, its cities, enterprises and colonization history seem realistic. Character development is really good. I wasn't impressed greatly with the plot, it's too TV-like, too suitable to become the series. But the ending redeems everything. 4⭐ and I can't wait to get to the second book. #Irish #scifi #Moon
Have I mentioned recently that everyone should read this? Because you should. It's a super compelling Scifi with so much diversity and I absolutely love it. It's also not really romance focussed. Plus it comes with a sequel that's just as diverse and compelling. Go read them and then come back and talk to me because I really need someone to talk to me about everyone in this book!

My favourite sci-fi books are the ones that drop you into a fully realized world without spoon-feeding you the history/vocabulary/concepts (think Dune, or Ancillary Justice). This is one of those books. It's family dynasties meet corporate warfare on the moon and I couldn't put it down!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Luna: New Moon is a wild SF soap opera, literally like Dallas / Dynasty on the moon. It features 2 families who made empires out of mining on the moon, the Cortas and the MacKenzies. The first generation made the money & younger gen must keep it. Seems like everyone is bi-sexual on the moon! A romp!
