If you put an ex in a story, give him a small you-know-what and make him impotent. He'll never say it was him! No one gets sued!

#AprilBookShowers Title with "good"
Not sure why I haven't rated this one before, but it's a recent read that I feel deserves more love. Great vacation read.
As the title says "good on paper." Shira just kind of floats through life. Then a job opportunity forces her to evaluate it, and she has the choice to make changes or stay the same. Many Dante references and poetry types.
All prepped for #HurricaneMatthew. 7 books and 7 movies and two back up batteries.
Picked up this at a really nice bookstore in Dallas called The Wild Detectives.
This one was denser than I expected, and wow--it was a great read. So much to say about forgiveness and new beginnings, and I really liked all the parts about language. Now I feel like I oughta queue up some Dante on the Serial Reader app.
You know that thing where you're just starting a new book but you accidentally read the blurbs for the author's previous book first and then you get like, weird book envy because you think there's a pretty good chance you'll really like the previous book, which is not the book you've got? 🤔
Anyway, this A Highly Unlikely Scenario book is going on the tbr list.
I mayyy have gone a little nuts requesting things from the library last week and now they've all come in! 😁 #tbrtuesday
I stuck this one out, but never really got into it. The middle section was best; it was the most heartfelt and grounded, whereas the rest felt a little showy and false. I've been looking forward to this book for a while, so I was a little disappointed.
Last minute pre-vacation panic shopping.
I put GOOD ON PAPER at the top my stack of recently acquired books, but I'm not loving it. There's A LOT of Dante in this book, and he was never my fave.
This would make a solid book club choice. I disliked the main character, and found her relatable. The story was compelling, but not as emotionally involving as I'd thought it would be.
I have seen this book everywhere! I am so happy that I have got my hands on it
Rachel Cantor is so good on paper as well as in real life. Can't wait to devour her latest!
