My motivation is my kids. I suffered from sever depression and anxiety before I had my children. I struggled to get out of bed most days. Now I have my children to get out of bed for. They motivate me to look after myself, for them. They inspire me with new ways of playing and thinking.

Sometimes I worry that I'm past the days of finding a book that feels like a revelation to read. I started thinking about some authors whose work became dear to me over the years--like Joan Didion, Ray Bradbury, and Haruki Murakami. I think the last book to really affect me was Wonderland. I'm still struck by how much was left unsaid (for the best!) in that book. I think Shirley Jackson will soon become a favorite as well.
