This was really good and hard to put down. It is very "young" adult.
I liked that you didn't know which character was the Prince and which was the assassin.
The ending was the best part. It makes you want to pick up the next book immediately.

What a great book! Couldn't put it down. World building that is interesting but doesn't take pages and pages, interesting characters to root for and mystery and action to keep me turning pages. I've already ordered book 2!
4.9/5⭐️
This book actually blew me away...it is so thoroughly crafted and so well written. It's simple yet complex. The world is intricate and solid, praise for this author 👏 And the romance is toasty but clean👌 My only tiny grumble is the author taking little moments to keep you out of the loop and then drop the facts. But you know that it's on purpose haha. I'm already reading book 2 and enjoying it as well!
I rooted for Lia and I loved Pauline too! Kaden and Rafe weren't that interesting and could have been fleshed out more. I also adored motherly Berdi, she was was awesome.
I loved Terravin, it was unbelievable beautiful and peaceful village. Otherwise this world was quite cruel and ugly.
I was surprised how unique this felt. This made me feel and the story gave some surprises too.

This series was a great one set in a futuristic ruined American landscape.
Book 1 of The Remnant Chronicles. A Princess tries to escape her fate and find her place the world. The BEST part is the setting. It is a future Earth, where all that is left of “the ancients” are a few places/monuments/landmarks that the reader can recognize as the west coast. I loved trying to decipher which city/landmark/structure the author was referring to.
I truly enjoyed this one and I‘ve already downloaded the last two stories in the trilogy. The characters are engaging and I love the fictional world of this author is one that pulls you in.
Yay! I found more by Mary Pearson, and yes, they are in the same world as the duology I just finished! This one is set before the others, and a little part of me wishes that I had read these first, but it is also fun to hear names I‘m already familiar with, and I know “how it ends” on a very small scale— getting to see their origin stories. 9/10
A reserved pick for me. The story was good, but somehow Pearson didn‘t capitalize on the excitement the story naturally had. At no time did it seem that Lia was in real danger, for example. I like the story and I want to know what happens next, but she needs to start bringing the drama!
I had this book out from the library years ago and ignored it, but after hearing it mentioned again lately I got the audiobook. SO GOOD. I was so involved. This was a great book to have while on lockdown, trying to work from home. It kept me at my desk. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

The only thing good about this series is the #quotes
Very cliche on the first book, picked up a bit in the second. Hopefully the third won't drag ??
Now that I have dragged my way through the #revivalistseries, I am now starting #theremnantchronicles
This has been in my #tbrpile for ages, but now I've finally plucked the courage to start reading 📚
I enjoyed this book, I appreciate it when ya makes it obvious that there is a love triangle thing going on from the start. It honestly wasn't hard to read or trying to be overcomplicated, which is probably why I enjoyed this. I have a suspicion as to where this is going to go, and I wanna continue the series to find out.
Day 27
Its rare that I adore the 1st book. They tend to be focused on world building and character development. In that aspect, I adore this. Has its cliches but the rest of the trilogy is totally worth it!
On the day of her arranged wedding, Princess Lia flees to a distant village. Unbeknownst to her, an assassin & her betrothed soon arrive. Who can she trust & what secrets will be uncovered?

Taking a break from my Fall reads and my TBR Bingo to start the first book in the Remnant Chronicles. (I know what it looks like but I swear I did not eat all that pie in one go 😅)
Princess Lia fleas on her wedding day to a distant village & settles among common folk. intrigued when two handsome strangers arrive one day, unaware that one an assassin to kill her and another a jilted prince... oooohh deception and intrigue⚔️🛡 excited 😆
I really enjoyed this fantasy novel, recommended to me by my sis-in-law! Princess Arabella runs away from an arranged marriage, refusing to be a pawn in her father‘s politics. Now, known by her preferred name Lia, she comes to learn that her choices came with a price she never imagined. Is it time to accept her duty? Full of romance, friendship and adventure, this was a quick read. Looking forward to the sequel! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
After my dad passed six months ago, we found gift card money he had to Barnes & Noble. He always gave my sis-in-law and me gift cards for Christmas, so my brothers decided to give the gift card money to the two of us as one last Christmas gift from my dad. 😢❤️ I bought the box set of this series with part of the money because my sis-in-law recommended it.
Losing both of your parents brings a deep loneliness. I miss my Daddy every single day. 💔
“if i could only reach out and touch the stars, i would know everything. i would understand.“
A princess runs away on the day that her arranged marriage is scheduled to take place. While in hiding she befriends two men, an assassin hired to kill her and the prince that she jilted. Uniquely structured and told in multiple POV, each pretends to be someone else keeping their true identity from the heroine and reader. This one ends in a cliffhanger but the plot held my attention enough that I will keep on with the series. Audio was well done
The plot twist between the two characters (the prince and the assassin) was well done, the result still managed to surprise me even when I was very prepared for it. Overall, this book didn't draw me in as much as I thought it would, but it was still a pretty good story with a decent bit of surprises mixed in. All in all I would recommend this book for the mystery between the two male protagonists, I enjoyed trying to figure out who was who.
I couldn't even finish it. It was slow, and boring and it just feels like a cheap remake of a good fantasy story. Wasn't super into it. The main character was pretty bad ass and deserved a better story. Wouldn't recommend.
I fell asleep reading the tagged book.. and when I woke up I found this underneath me 😩 I cracked my wooden bookmark!
People who have read this, help me out please!! I am listening to the audio and just finished the nighttime portion of the day the two guys show up at the tavern. Am I supposed to know which guy is which?!? Right now I'm frustrated and confused because I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way or if I missed something and should go back. Help!!
3/5 stars
It wasn't the best book I've read this year but it was interesting.
You follow a princess who decides to leave her life behind, because she doesn't want to marry the prince her father choose for her. She travel to a small village and makes it her new home.
There are two different point of views, the prince and the assasin send to kill her.
What is interesting about this concept is that you don't know who is the prince or the assassin.
I'm finally pushed past my reading slump. I really enjoyed this book. It was so hard to put this book down. I definitely recommend it! I'm excited to start the second book tomorrow. #litsy #kindle #kindlefire #paperwhite
I'm going to post a review on each book in this series. I just went through them non-stop. Right now I'm in a funk because I'm done. I wasn't that hopeful for this series and as it started I thought I had it all figured out. But it was a good read, well written and with great character detail. Then about 60% to 75% there is an awesome character reveal that made me rethink everything I had read so far. It gets even more interesting from there.
Currently reading The Kiss of Deception at a grad party; I figure if everyone else can be on their phone, so can I 😉📖 #24in48 #covertreading
BOOK HAUL! My Book Depository order came in this afternoon which means my whole haul has finally arrived!! Still expecting Children of Blood and Bone tomorrow but just couldn‘t wait! Three different series to indulge in and I‘ve heard great things about them all!! And of course, Simon! Now someone needs to put me on a book buying ban...stat!! 🤭
I‘ve heard good things about this book, but damn. I didn‘t expect to love it THIS MUCH. I feel like it was a little slow at times, but every moment did seem important to the story. I need the second book NOW. 👑
Starting this series today while I wait for Stars Above and Fairest to be delivered! I‘ve heard lots of good things about it and hope it lives up to the hype!📖⚔️ #currentread
I finished this but could never really get into it. It was interesting to hide the POV identities, but otherwise this felt like a super typical YA fantasy to me. I‘ve heard so many rave reviews, but I think I must‘ve missed the boat. #audiobook
Thank you, spring, for finally arriving and allowing evening outdoor walks with an #audiobook!
