Pineapple Lies
Pineapple Lies | Amy Vansant

Growing up in one of Florida's fifty-five plus communities, Charlotte never expected life to be wild. Golf cart racing with her surrogate mothers Mariska and Darla was about as nutty as life got...until she found the hot pawnbroker's mom buried in her backyard. Talk about making a lousy first impression. Armed with nothing but her wits, Pineapple Port's questionable cast of characters and a growing crush, Charlotte is determined to solve the mystery of Declan's mother's murder. Hey, at least this guy's skeletons aren't in his closet.

This is the first in a series of clean, sweet, humorous mystery stories with an enjoyable cast of characters. Set in a Florida retirement community, the protagonist is actually a young woman who has been raised there by friends and neighbors of her deceased and beloved grandmother. There‘s a Stephanie Plum-esque vibe in all the best ways. A great palate cleanser! A few typos, no intellectual challenges, but I‘m on book three and happy as a clam.

Day 22 of #scarathlondailyprompts is skeleton. This is the first in the Pineapple Port cozy mystery series. A fun, easy read with quirky, likable characters. The problem in this first book is a skeleton found in the backyard of our heroine. She realizes she is pretty good at solving mysteries and is the inexperienced sleuth for this cozy. Included in kindle unlimited.

Finished my #DoubleSpin for February this week. A fun read, with nice characters and a mystery that kept me guessing. Enjoyed it but not sure I will continue the series.

Also finished Dog on it by Spencer Quinn. Loved it: the story told from the point of view of the doggie was great. The mystery was not hard to figure out but that was not the point which was the world according to Chet. Already ordered 2nd book.

claudiuo @TheAromaOfBooks Didn't finish it in February as supposed to but glad I did anyway, started it a few months ago and set it aside. Attached is also my #BookSpinBingo card since I didn't post it before. Thank you for always making me read more! 4y
claudiuo @BookishMarginalia I'm making progress on my #LitsyAtoZ. Thanks for keeping track of this fun challenge! 4y

Silly fun, with likable characters and available now on Prime Reading. Our sleuth is a 26 year old living in a 55 plus community. Her best friends are sweet, silly, and spunky. I give it 3/5. The next in the series is set at Halloween. I plan to read it in October.

Cute, funny cozy with a rather implausible premise that an 11-year old girl with no family was allowed to mostly live by herself in a senior community. It's a pick because of the humor. And because the main character wanted to grow up to race golf carts.
