Tearjerker but sooo good.

So one of my advisory students is reading this book for her book club and she got in trouble with her reading teacher. I took her to my room and told her if she would read the book, I would read it to so we can have our own mini book club so she could get credit for her class. It‘s pretty good so far!

Our 11 yr old daughter wanted to choose a book for both of us to read separately and discuss this summer. This was the book she chose. I wpyld not have chose this book, as it deals with childhood cancer. I did enjoy teasing it, though. It is well written, in the voice of a 12 year old boy. There was a very sad part in the book, as I expected. It is dealt with deftly, though.

Not for me, at least not right now. The main character is annoying.

My daughter had to read this book for school... she blazed through it and wanted me to read it. I jumped on the chance to share a book she now loves. This book is an entertaining and well written portal into the mind of a 13 year old boy dealing with his little brother's cancer and all the things that come along with being an 8th grader. Finished it in a day and immediately purchased the sequel. Can't wait to get it in the mail. 😁

One of my favorite books! I read it, unable to put it down. Later when we went on a family trip and my mom made us pick one audio book for the family and my family was so into it. We would take long trips to DQ on vacation just to finish the chapter. This book is the first one to a two book series

Funny, sad, and hopeful book.

I couldn't really find a book to go along with the lyrics. But this book does the trick for when I think of an "American Boy." Boy in all-star jazz band, in love with a girl that doesn't notice him, and suddenly having to deal with his little brother getting sick and the changes that happen as a result. Both humorous and heartbreaking at the same time. I haven't read the second one yet. #AmericanBoy #LyricalApril

So, I thought Savers had a 50% off everything sale today. I got excited and had upwards of 10 books in my cart. When I realized it was just clothes, I was disappointed. But I still got my 5... 6 actually. I couldn't resist the 1960 version of the dessert cookbook. One of the books is even signed! Too bad I haven't found an "X" book for my #litsyatoz yet.

One #uniquefact about me for the #augustofpages #bookphotochallenge #day14 is that I am the only female snare drummer in a drumline of all males. I'm also a junior in high school and I'm currently at band camp! 🎶🎶

I was so sad when this book was over it felt like I read it way too fast. This book will have you laughing until the very end. You also can't help but to love every single character and the choices they make. The ending was probably my favorite part because how he brought the whole story together.

This book had me laughing and in tears. It is one of my current favorites. As a middle school librarian, I recommend this book all the time to the students. I've had boys come back and thank me, even the ones it made cry. I would give this book a ❤️ if I could!
