I was lucky enough to see an exhibition of Kahlo and Rivera‘s work at my city‘s art museum this past fall, and I‘d like to read this novelization of Frida‘s life. I bet it‘s interesting!

One of Mexico‘s celebrated novelists, F. G. Haghenbeck, writes a fictionalized work of Frida Kahlo‘s fascinating life and loves, based on several notebooks which were discovered at the home of the Mexican artist in Mexico City.

Lovely day visiting the home of Frida Kahlo in Coyoacan, Mexico. I picked up a few blank, leather bound journals and book marks.
Read the book!!! Now, I am having coffee before visiting her house in Coyoacan, Mexico.
10/52 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really enjoyed reading this novel because it included so many true facts about her life. It included recipes that sound delicious- too bad I don‘t cook. I can‘t wait to go to her house, now a museum, in about 8 weeks!!!
Everyone needs to find time to play. Growing old is a state of mind not an age. Play! Play! Play!
Provocative statement. Food for thought.
Finally getting some quality reading time with the hopes of finishing this book weekend. I am very excited to visit the places mentioned in this book, taste the food and see the artwork discussed in this his book. Mexico City is going to be a great travel adventure.
Preparing for my upcoming trip to Mexico City! I can‘t wait to experience the art, food, music, tequila, museums, cathedrals, and beauty of Mexico City, including the artwork of Frida and Diego!
This is one I set aside for a while and came back to. The life and times of Frida Kahlo are fascinating, as are the social arenas she and husband Diego Rivera lived in. The book is a fiction biography (biographical fiction?) framed by the (fictional?) secret journal and cooking notes of Frida herself. It's a nice, warm book and appreciative of the artist and the woman.
One more Frida collage from the exhibit we saw yesterday. This book looks fascinating! Check out the family photo - that's Frida on the far left in her father's suit. I am more enchanted than ever by her courage and her art.
A novel of artist Frida Kahlo's life, portrayed as a notebook-imagined by the author after notebooks & sketchbooks were found at her house in Mexico. Memories combined w/ recipes, trippy at times (she led a colorful life), but if you know her story & are a fan you'll likely enjoy it. It goes well w/the movie Frida & here it's paired w/ 2 recipes from Frida's Fiestas cookbook for a book/film crossover blog event. Details/recipes in comments.🍴📚👍
Stopping in the midst of errand running for breakfast & a few chapters to get this one finished up for bookclub. Feeling 'carby' this morning so a sun-dried tomato bagel & cold brew with a bit of soy & brown sugar cinnamon syrup. Happy Saturday!
#septemberphotochallenge #readingoutside Part 2 #outtakes For the blooper roll... when the local wildlife stops by and photo bombs your picture... Unfortunately he wouldn't stay & pose nicely. #somethingforsept 🐥🐥🐥
Day 23 #SeptemberPhotoChallenge #readingoutside No time for reading at the beach this week and my Friday morning ritual is a few pages over coffee and an Acai bowl at my neighborhood coffee shop before getting to work. It's still a little hazy out but the blue sky will be poking out soon. One of my weekend reading goals is finishing this book & figuring out what to make for my virtual foodie bookclub as it's due by 9/30. #somethingforsept 📚☕️🍴🏝
Reading this while listening to Listz has been a pretty enjoyable way to spend this cool, rainy day.
