Love isn‘t waiting for someone to remember me. Love isn‘t dreaming about them all alone. Love is talking together, forgiving each other, finding common threads in the lives we want.

This was a November 2019 BOTM pick even though I‘ve never read this series, and I‘m glad the premise didn‘t disappoint. This was a quick but good read and the plot was fast enough that I didn‘t get bored. My only critique is that the book and romance was slightly cheesy and I wish that there was a book map.
I haven‘t done a giveaway in a while but guess what? I have a new one for this book posted on Instagram! Click here to enter: https://instagram.com/p/CBTW9pmgS1_/
A very pretty and enjoyable fairytale of a love story. I loved the characters and their arcs, and it was written beautifully. There IS a pandemic in this book, so if you really aren‘t in the mood for reading anything pandemic-related because we get enough of it IRL right now, I‘d suggest on waiting to read this til things have calmed down a bit. Other than that, a lovely read.
This book is set in the world of Forest of a Thousand Lanterns, although it can be read as a standalone. This was the first book I have read by Julie Dao and I really enjoyed it. It is a love story and adventure twined together. There are star crossed lovers, a curse, a villain, a quest, a long lost prince, a plague and an evil drug. The world building is excellent and the reader comes to care about the characters and what happens to them.
I did not realise this was part of a series, but I thoroughly enjoyed this and will definitely be going back to read the others. I loved the world she built, the characters, even the ending!
