Black: The Circle Series | Ted Dekker
An Adrenaline-Laced Epic Where Dreams and Reality Collide. Fleeing assailants through deserted alleyways, Thomas Hunter narrowly escapes to the roof of a building. Then a silent bullet from the night clips his head . . . and his world goes black. From the blackness comes an amazing reality of another world where evil is contained. A world where Thomas Hunter is in love with a beautiful woman. But then he remembers the dream of being chased through an alleyway as he reaches to touch the blood on his head. Where does the dream end and reality begin? Every time he falls asleep in one world, he awakes in the other. Yet in both, catastrophic disaster awaits him . . . may even be caused by him. Some say the world hangs in the balance of every choice we make. Now the fate of two worlds hangs in the balance of one man's choices.

This book is a thriller like no other, although not in a scary way. A man named Thomas Hunter, from two worlds, tries to save both. When he falls asleep in one world, he wakes in the other. In our world, the breakout of a deadly virus is imminent, and Only Thomas knows about it because of his “dreams.” Are both worlds real? Do they somehow relate to one another? Find out by reading the book! If you like fiction novels at their best, (cont. in com)

Cooper__Miller Then I strongly recommend this novel. The theme of this book is the ultimate battle of good and evil. Whether it‘s the Roush vs the Shataiki, the Raison Strain vs the world, or Thomas vs inner conflict, this story is all about good vs evil 4y
MissYaremcio Awesome job Cooper! LOVE THE DOGGO (best part of the review tbh, but also just a great review). I'm glad that you have enjoyed it! 6/6 4y

My newest read! I promised a friend I haven't spoken to in a decade that I would read this series, and I'm finally getting around to it.

RaimeyGallant How is/was it? And a belated welcome to Litsy! #LitsyWelcomeWagon Some of us put together Litsy tips to help new Littens navigate the site. It's the link in my bio on my page in case you need it. Or if you prefer how-to videos, @chelleo put some together at the link in her bio. @LitsyWelcomeWagon 6y
bellamytaft @RaimeyGallant I had a hard time getting into it, unfortunately! I'm sure I'll power through at some point. And thanks for the info! I'll be sure to check it all out! 6y
RaimeyGallant I wish it had been a better read. 6y

These books are about a man who goes to another universe when he falls asleep! And it is the first thing I thought of for the #dreams prompt! #noteworthynovember

JoeStalksBeck I have all these and now I‘m gonna red them 7y
EllieDottie @JoeStalksBeck I really liked them, but I will warn you they have a lot of strong Christian allegory ( just want to warn you so you know what to expect)!! 7y

JoeStalksBeck Thanks for the heads up! That sort of thing can be overbearing 7y

So here's the thing about this book. It's a really fast paced read. It's different. It is, however quite heavy handed.

Pacing is very quick like The Da Vinci Code, and it's heavy handed like CS Lewis's The Last Battle.

CocoReads Hm, that's been lingering on my tbr for years. Based on that description though, I'm not sure it's the book for me. Not a fan of heavy handed. 7y
maximoffs @CocoReads it's really NOT bad it's just very obviously a Christian book 7y
CocoReads Next time I run across it I'll give it a try. I do like fast paced, I just feel the very Christian ones are a little like "preaching to the choir" since I'm already there. 7y

maximoffs @CocoReads I get that! I liked it a lot tbh 7y
Avanders My 2 cents: I really enjoyed Black... I don't necessarily disagree that it's heavy handed, but I definitely didn't think of it that way when I was reading it... it's obviously Christian, but I felt it was just a very intentional analogy (allegory... though not exactly "hidden" ;)). I'll add that everyone in my family loves this book. Hope you do too if you read it @CocoReads ☺️ (edited) 7y
EllieDottie I agree completely with your review! It was heavy handed; really enjoyed it for what it was! (edited) 7y

Had to switch from the audio book to the regular. The narrator didn't change his voice enough in conversations! It was driving me crazy

Avanders I love that series .... (haven't read Green yet, though) 7y

I don't usually get a #lazyrainysunday. Sundays are really busy for me, with church and worship band practice and preparing Sunday school lessons and spending time with family. And I wouldn't have it any other way. But if I did have a lazy Sunday, I'd probably spend it wading something that would impact me spiritually, as Ted Dekker's Circle series did. #marchmadness

Although this is the only book of the series I've finished so far, I like the complexity of the story line that's been created. Definitely not a boring read. Keeps you on your toes!
