This brings to an end the "The trilogy of five" Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It recovers some of the freshness that had lost with the last book, really enjoyed it, very good wrap up of the series. I'll definitely revisit it in the years to come, a good way to get some light, fun-chaotic reading. Might look for the BBC audios, if anyone knows where to find them!

When I initially read Mostly Harmless, I recall thinking it didn‘t feel the same as the other books, and so never finished it. After revisiting it on Audible, I‘m glad I corrected my mistake. Yes, the tone is bleaker, but the story is as compelling as the original, and equally zany as books 2 and 3. It‘s messy and often confusing, but its biggest downfall may simply be that Adams tried too hard to give his much beloved series a “proper” send-off.

In some parallel universes Tricia McMillan did not leave Earth with Zaphod Beeblebrox and the Earth was not demolished and now using the new edition of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe you can cross to whichever parallel universe you desire.

Back to the funny playing with ideas. I enjoyed this one.

I know it‘s not usually a favourite in the “trilogy,” and I‘m not a fan of the end, but I enjoy this book. I remember giggling like crazy while first reading about the Domain of the King as a kid (I‘d never read anything quite like that before and the whole scene always stuck with me), and it still makes me chuckle.

It might be an unpopular opinion, but I think this is my second favorite book in the whole "trilogy". It captures the wacky, madcap frantic action of the first book, with some nice character moments, especially for Trillian who got ignored for most of the other books. I do have to take back 1/2 a star for the abrupt ending. 3 ⭐⭐⭐ 1/2

A reread in German a couple of years after I read it in English the first time. But it didn't really get to me this time 🤷‍♀️ I still love the first book, but all the others that follow couldn't excite me, anymore... Am I getting to old and boring? Or was it just Random, whom I found utterly annoying?

I'm gonna jump back in to the quotsy fray! It's been a while.

Managed to complete the Chalk Man for #TheReadingRush and decided to change it up a bit and threw in Mostly Harmless for a bit of humour. Hopefully it will be my seventh book for #TheReadingRush

I found this a bit lacking in enthusiasm. A bit too much hopelesness, being stuck, anger, confusion. I felt that Adams has run out of ideas and was repeating himself, with less humor. I was quite bored for parts of it. Overall it is worth finishing and still has some amusing moments.

The second to last book of the year has been finished!

It was my least favorite of the Hitchhiker's Guide "trilogy". Some of the most beloved characters were not in it and unlike the others, where you could follow the story plot a little, this one was completely different.

I must say I was a little disappointed and incredibly sad. 3.6/5?
