I don‘t know if it‘s me or the book, but I struggled big time with this one. There are so many great series out there, yet people praise this series, but I don‘t see it. Am I tired of stubborn, loner male detectives with an alcohol problem? Don‘t know, but Jo and I are on a break now. 2 stars. Barely finished it. Quite frankly, it was boring 🤷🏽♂️
Another fast-paced installment in the Harry Hole series. These books definitely get better as the series goes on! 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
I'm calling it. Time of death? Somewhere around chapter 4.
Maybe this is a case of "right book, wrong time", maybe it's the way this book was translated or maybe it's just not for me.
The only part I did like is that the MC's named Harry Hole. Yes, I'm an immature 12 year old. Yes, I know it's not pronounced the way I think it should be but it made it more interesting so I'm going with it ?♀️

I finding this to be a great series full of excitement and great characters, Detective Harry Hole is one of the best
I love these. They're really long for this genre but so worth it.
First book of 2019! The next solid installment in The Harry Hole, which also fulfills the #multiplePOV prompt for #pop19.
Inspector Hole is really growing on me, even when he makes morally ambiguous decisions. I‘ll definitely be finishing this series this year!

I hope to finally finish this one up tomorrow. I haven‘t had as much reading time this week as I planned, but am catching up tonight! #currentlyreading #catsoflitsy #HelloKitty

I‘m slowing down on my tagged #currentread, since deciding I want to count it for a #pop19 prompt in the New Year!
And why the hubby pic? He doesn‘t make an appearance here very often! As I sit & reflect during these quiet winter evenings, I am thankful he is my rock in life. This pic was taken on a big rock today while hiking at Crowder‘s Mountain 🏔
After enjoying what is probably the last sunny day of 2018, I‘m ready for a weekend of reading!
I have 45 minutes before a conference call, and my kid is at the neighborhood park with friends, so I‘m squeezing in a reading break! With one of my favorite roobios teas: vanilla spiced chai! #booksandtea
Starting a new book while the rest of the family is playing video games! Someone is not happy that I sat down on her napping chair. #catsoflitsy
In this Harry Hole crime a member of the Salvation Army is killed right before Christmas. This book is still on my tbr and I‘m not sure when I‘ll get to it #WinterKills #WinterWonderland
#WinterWonderland Nothing says #WinterKills more than #NordicNoir❄️🎩🧤☃️💣🧣and the Inspector Harry Hole series certainly fits the bill. When shots ring out at a Salvation Army Christmas concert in Oslo, leaving one of the singers dead in the street, the trail will lead Harry Hole, Oslo‘s best investigator and worst civil servant, deep into the darkest corners of the city and, eventually, to Croatia.
This was so good! Jo Nesbø never fails! Love how real his characters feel and the story is quite surprising at times. Only one thing annoyed me a lot (I'll add it to the comments under a spoiler tag if you want to know more).
Wow, this assassin has a seriously hard time in Scandinavia! But that's what you get ending up in a Nordic noir novel from Norway. Next time he'll know better. You should not do crime in Oslo! That's Harry Hole's territory. 😂
Next up some good old Harry Hole mystery! Only my second #NordicNoir this year. 😁
Another fine Harry Hole thriller, about a contract killer after his target and Harry has to stop him. A lot other elements are involved which derail the case. Also concludes some story elements from the last book. 8/10
I liked this one. Harry is on the trail of an assassin who has a job to do. Told through dual narratives of more than one cat and more than one mouse, it was hard to put down. There's so many layers to these Jo Nesbo books. And just when you think it's over, the epilogue slaps your brain around. Pretty good. I am super excited to read The Snowman next before for the movie's out. Then I plan on taking a break from Harry and Jo.......if I can.
This might be my favorite one yet! Jo Nesbø knows how to craft complex, gritty, and likeable characters, as well as intense and intriguing crimes that will keep you reading into the night. The Redeemer has all of this. Harry's fast paced cat-and-mouse chase of the killer had me on the edge of my seat.
Started this one this week & I'm loving it!! I seriously can't put it down. Jo Nesbø crafts an amazing character in Harry Hole ???
6th book in the series and it's a good one but I could tell there was some translation issues, no fault to the translator. I really felt at the end of the book that I missed something not necessarily content but sentiment. Onward to the Snowman ⛄️☃
