I browsed bookstores downtown today for the first time in years. It was heavenly and I got caught up and bought the tagged book and a new bookmark (though I needed neither strictly speaking)
This was good. Don't let the title fool you into thinking it's lame. It's about a group working to put out a satirical version of the Nazi Belgian propaganda newspaper. Inspired by something that actually happened.

Day 2
Marc Aubrion is one of my fav characters in the books because he looks and acts like a fool, but he actually #motivates other to fight and to survive ❤
I wish everybody a wonderful day and a Christmas day full of joy!
I'm going to celebrate wishing a merry Christmas to every guest here in the hotel (few people this year 😔)

It's time to share!
I did a lot of gifts this year and received a lot too 😍
Mostly books, but also this beautiful selection of organic herbal teas ❤
Funny story: the friend that gave me this received a selection of english teas from me 🤣

Just finished #Wakenhyrst, a good book that I liked, now I'm reading #TheVentriloquists.
I didn't read a lot of historic book this year, hope to find interesting this one 😎
I should be putting some of tomorrow‘s big meal together but I‘m not feeling it. So, since I finished my last book, I‘m digging back into this one. Only about 300 pages to go!
#TBRtemptation post 1! A recent release. Based on a true story. Belgium, 1943. A group of journalists and freedom fighters set up an elaborate plot to bring down the Nazis. 12-year-old Helene befriends journalist Marc. He & his staff have been tasked with using his newspaper to make the Nazis look good, or die. They create a fake edition, and will die for the joke...in 18 days. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
🍭🍭🍭🍭 review is up on my blog. Stop by and say hi. https://reecaspieces.com/2019/08/27/the-ventriloquist-by-e-r-harlequin-bookexpo2...
Aargghh! I DNF 2 books this week!
1. ➡️ The writing is great but I felt that as I read on, the story is getting more depressing & there's no real plot;
2. ➡️ Scattered & fragmented storytelling. I spent most of my time re-reading pages as I have no idea which characters is talking at that moment.
So looking forward to read these two books but life is too short (or in my case, my TBR is getting big), to finish books that frustrates me!
#DNF
I hate bailing on books... but this is only my second #DNF for 2019 so far! It‘s an interesting idea, set in Belgium in WWII- a story about resistance newspapers and plots within plots. But this debut feels roughly written- the perspective and frame add confusion, and the cast of characters feels tripled in size because of inconsistent use of names! My TBR has talked me into grabbing something else!
