Challenge 23 of 50: A book with a main character in their 20s

This is the last of the Mary Russell & Sherlock Holmes mysteries I am using for the Popsugar challenge (for now). The Pirate King is #11 in the series, and to be honest not my favorite. But seeing as Mary spends the majority of the series in her 20s (she has not yet hit 30 and we're 16 books in) then it counts just the same.

I have enjoyed most of the books in the series but this one was a bit of a between a pick and a so-so for me. Probably because it took the book about half the length to set the scene and then only did the adventure begin.... Considering that this is the 11th book in the series, the author could have launched into the action a bit faster.

This is a great Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes mystery! It‘s about a movie picture filming actors put on the play Pirates of Penzance. Of course, there‘s people disappearing and deaths! The game‘s afoot.
