Il romanzo delloscura, crudele Sicilia. Il dramma di un investigatore lucido che, quanto pi indagava, tanto pi nellequivoco, nellambiguit, moralmente e sensualmente si sentiva coinvolto.

batsy To Each His Own is a Sicilian small town unconventional detective story with a dash of noir. Good Behaviour is billed as a dark satire of 20th-century Irish society and, true to my brand, seemingly with a dash of #spinsterlit vibes. Two Young Wives is a 19th-century epistolary novel of two best friends from a convent who go on to live two very different lives of duty vs. decadence. 3y
vivastory Great selections! My vote is for Good Behavior 3y
Hamlet I‘ve always wanted to read some Balzac, plus I like the “duty vs. decadence” idea. 3y

GatheringBooks Awesome picks, dear @batsy - my pick goes to 3y
LeahBergen I love the sound of all of these but you KNOW I gotta vote for that spinster lit. 😆 3y
sarahbarnes Ooh, fun choices! Spinster lit for me as well, please - I‘m voting for Good Behaviour. 😁 3y
quietjenn Ah, you are not making it easy! But my vote is for 3y
Leftcoastzen They all look great but spinsters win ! 3y
Billypar These sound great! I never read Balzac before and this one sounds really interesting, so I'm going with 3y
arubabookwoman I'm voting for the Balzac, #TheMemoirsofTwo YoungWives. I have read the other 2, both very good. 3y
Liz_M I've had my eye on the tagged for a while - love the cover - so that is my choice 3y
youneverarrived I‘m due in June so don‘t think I‘ll be able to join in the reading or discussion but these all sound great! I would have voted for Good Behaviour 🤍 3y
vivastory @youneverarrived How exciting! Do you know wat it will be, or are you waiting? 3y
vivastory *what 3y
Suet624 I might have to order Good Behavior just from your description. 3y
Suet624 Well that was quick. I couldn‘t wait. Ordered it. 3y
batsy @Hamlet It does sound really good. I like the concept of a study of two contrasting personalities via correspondence. 3y
batsy @erzascarletbookgasm They're always so tempting, aren't they 😆 3y
batsy @Cathythoughts @arubabookwoman Happy to hear you both enjoyed Good Behaviour, as that's what the group voted for. Really looking forward to it 🙂 3y
batsy @Suet624 We're always happy to enable each other's eager book-buying over here 😁 3y
batsy @youneverarrived That's wonderful! 🙂💕 3y
Suet624 So I ordered it and then 10 minutes later, after organizing my shelf of NYRB book, I discovered that I already had a copy. I quickly sent the company an email to cancel the order. Five minutes later they responded that they would cancel it. All on a Sunday evening. I‘m exhausted now. But at least I have the book in hand. LOL. 3y
batsy @Suet624 Oh no! I would be exhausted too, hahaha. With thanks to the book gods that it all ended well 😆 3y
Suet624 @batsy Now the Order Department is joking with me through email. :) Gotta love the personal touch. 3y
batsy @Suet624 😁 3y
youneverarrived @vivastory I decided to wait to find out, I like the surprise of it. 3y

Captain Adorable‘s baby sister is coming - Mom is at the hospital. So I‘ll stay at their house for a few days. We each have our routines that we love - a small amount of iPad for him and Louise Erdrich for me. To each their own.

Kaye Oh boy ! How exciting. A new 👶🏻 baby 7y
Suet624 @Kaye very exciting! Everyone told his mom the second baby would come quickly. Ha! 24 hours and counting. 7y
Kaye Uugghh... I remember those long labors. Back in my day they used Lamaze. Just Breathe and it Won‘t Hurt. 🤯😬 At least now they have ways to make the experience a lot less painful. 7y

Suet624 @Kaye I was part of that Lamaze wave too. 😜 ❤️. We had the best intentions, didn‘t we? 7y
Kaye Yes, I think they thought it‘d be best. Didn‘t work so well for me. 😳 7y
Avanders 😍😍 7y
Godmotherx5 I used to work in labor & delivery. Baby news always excites me. Warm wishes! 7y
Suet624 @Kaye me either. 😩😓😫 7y
Suet624 @Godmotherx5 thanks so much! 7y
MicheleinPhilly Captain Adorable indeed. ❤️ Best wishes for a smooth delivery! 7y
batsy Aww ❤️ Best wishes to your family! 7y
AmyG Awwww. He is so sweet. And a baby!!!! Hope all goes well. I WANT MY EPIDURAL! 7y
Suet624 @MicheleinPhilly @batsy Thank you! Fingers crossed on the smooth delivery part. Already taking too long in my humble opinion. 😁 7y
Mdargusch So sweet. ❤️ I was part of that Lamaze movement too. Do they even still use that? @kaye @Suet624 (edited) 7y
Suet624 @AmyG I finally had an epidural with my last birthing experience (twins- #3 and #4) I wish I‘d done it with my first two births. 😂😂 7y
Suet624 @Mdargusch I think they do for those who choose to. My daughter in law did it the last time and it took days to deliver and lots of pain. Boo. 7y
minkyb Good luck and Congratulations! 7y
ValerieAndBooks How exciting! How many grandchildren will this be now? 7y
Suet624 @minkyb thanks so much. ❤️ 7y
Suet624 @ValerieAndBooks this will be #4. Two of them live in DC so I don‘t see them as much. The Captain and I have been together every weekday for 4 years. I‘ll be with his sister each weekday too once her mom goes back to work. 7y
Reggie And bagels in bed!!!! Lucky. Congrats on the new grandchild! 7y
Godmotherx5 Any baby updates? 7y
Suet624 @Godmotherx5 Well.... after 30 hours they gave her pitocin and an epidural. That helped. Should be here in the next few hours. 😀. Thanks for asking! 7y
Godmotherx5 She must be exhausted. I hope it gets easier from here. 7y
Suet624 @Godmotherx5 I know. Thank you. 7y
Suet624 @Godmotherx5 Grace arrived at 8:50 pm! 9.5 lbs. a butterball. 😁 7y
Godmotherx5 YAY!!!!! What a big girl. Congratulations to you & your family 😘🎉🎊💝 7y
Suet624 @Godmotherx5 thanks so much. 💕💕 7y
Mdargusch How exciting! Congratulations! I love that name. ❤️ 7y

"But," he said to himself, "Sicily and maybe all of Italy is full of likable people who should have their heads chopped off."
