“Maybe I will stay awake this winter.”
This is a great story to use in the classroom when talking about winter and animals that hibernate.

This is a fun story about a hedgehog who wants to stay awake so he doesn‘t miss out on anything. The story includes talking animals as characters and incorporates themes of winter activities and animal life. The hedgehog is hibernating, but doesn‘t want to miss the winter activities his friends are doing.
I really enjoyed how the hedgehog was able to experience some of winter and see what snow looked like before he hibernated. All because the little girl took him inside! It shows appreciation to the beauty of the winter season

I would use this book in my class to talk about what hibernation means and the different things that happen in winter
Such a cute book! I loved how Hedgie was trying to delay hibernation so he could enjoy winter like everyone else. Loved the illustrations

First real snowfall here today - which is crazy for my area of Canada. We also have a strict stay at home order right now so I can‘t go anywhere even if I wanted to. So as my friend @Hestapleton says “Stay at home + snow = books books books books.” I‘m pretty sure she‘s a genius ❄️😀
Adorable winter read! 💚 The hedgehog was so cute that I wanted to take him home with me. Perfect book for kids who love animals. I read several Jan Brett books today, but this is definitely my favorite.

Barnes & Noble has 50% off their Childrens Christmas books, and i couldnt pass this up! I love 🦔!
I mean, they wrap up the hedgehog in a tea cozy and that‘s about as adorable as you can get.
Too cute not to gift.
