I enjoyed this story where gossip is important to solving the case. A couple of new characters that were fun. I hope a few of the characters stay around in the later books. Some progress in the romance between the MC & her neighbor. A fun story.

I liked this one, but not as much as book one. Book one drew me in. This one, the mystery/murder story was a little lack luster. But I loved the characters, which, of course, is why I am going to continue with this series! I really like all the old-timey rules and staff in it.
I finished my rat (#AudioCrochet).

Just as cute and charming as the first one!!
Thanks @Lauranahe for choosing the first for LMPBC - I‘m hooked into this series now ♥️

I never really gave cozy mysteries much thought but Freeman has hooked me in. Francis has such a bright mind like a relative of Sherlock Holmes.
February Book 9/25 #LitsyLove #bookspinbingo
A fun second book in this regency romance/mystery series. Frances once again goes looking to solve a murder, this time the death of her friend Mary who may (or may not) be a blackmailer. She‘s aided and encouraged by her love interest, George, to my keep investigating. (I read this last week but forgot to post)
This was really boring compared to the first one 😕 I did enjoy the storyline between the MC‘s!!! 🎉 but moments with them were few and far between. The mystery they were trying to figure out was extremely boring, but I fell in love with Lady Harleigh and Mr Hazelton since the first book so I‘m in it for the long haul. Going to read the third one. I wouldn‘t recommend this installment unless you are ALREADY on board. ⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2 out of 5

A lady‘s guide takes us back to Britain and mystery in the 1899s. A little boring from time to time but we watch Frances play sleuth.
A nice mystery with just a hint of romance. Enjoyed Frances, George, Charles, Hettie, and Lottie trying to discover if Mary was killed because she was a blackmailer or not. Lily was a bit annoying but provided family tension. Between a pick and so-so but I liked the resolution and that the romance wasn‘t primary in this one. Enjoyable read overall.

A solid second book in this #historical #cozymystery series. I was a little worried that the super obvious suspect was going to be the murderer but Freeman managed to keep me in the dark almost to the very end.
I very much enjoyed Frances, George, Hettie, and Jenny as well as the new secondary characters. I was hoping that Lily would be better in this but she is actually worse than in the first book!

The second book in Freeman‘s series has Lady Frances investigating murder, fraud while managing her independance and her extending family. I was happy to read about Frances‘ life and how she is slowly standing on her own, taking care of herself. All women characters have layers. They are not perfect but they are really interesting.
The mystery kept me reading and the culprits got what they deserved.
Game 5. In Boston. I'm backing the Blues. I'm almost done with this novel. It's quite entertaining. #readingandwatchinghockey for maybe next to last time of the season.
Firsr and last rays of sunshine of the day. I'm comfy and enjoying the light pouring in softly in the mezzanine library. It's time like this that I love my really soft leather chair and practical ottoman. I'm almost at 60% of this cozy historical mystery. It's quite good. #comfychair
Game 3. It's Gloria time. Go Blues. Last Saturday of hockey of the season until next October. I'm already stalking some players IG to get my daily hockey fix. It's gonna be a long summer. #readingandwatchinghockey
New book. The plan is to sit in my lounge chair on the patio, with ice water and enjoy the only sunny day of the week-end with Freeman's newest historical mystery. #summerreading
