Painless | Marty Thornley

What readers are saying... ..".most definitely a recommended read, though it's probably not the best choice for those with a weak stomach." "Gruesome and twisted. Awesome!!!" "OMG this book. Holy heck the gruesome descriptions of blood and gore and guts was SO RAD. I found myself cringing and fidgeting and yes, even feeling a bit nauseous in some spots - but totally in a GOOD WAY! Painless was exactly what I wanted in a super-unique, creepy, shocking horror-thriller." About the Book... The debut psychological-horror novel from author Marty Thornley is a page-turning ride, a front row seat to a clinical trial gone horribly wrong. For Greg Owens, this was supposed to be a chance to end years of back pain and escape his reliance on pain pills. If it all worked out, he could maybe even get back the life he left behind as the pills took control. Instead, as the patients are cured of their physical pain, they encounter a different sort of pain building inside them - obsessive thoughts, depression, self-destruction. The side-effects grow worse, and the suspense ratchets tighter. The patients want answers and violent revenge, setting them on a collision course with a crazed doctor, determined to protect his life's obsession.

Mehso-so

I wanted to like this book, and I did in some ways, but as with any book that I find editing errors with I cannot recommend it until the errors are fixed.

Okay here is my #Readathon stack. A little ambitious given the fact that I'll be driving from Ohio to Wisconsin during this time to help my sick grandmother but I think I can do it as I am a true power reader right? 💪🏻😉 Hopefully I can get through these because January is going to be the month of chunksters! 😳

So I got a little behind in the #24B4Monday with @Andrew65 and @TheReadingMer today. Between a migraine and work and juat literally not able to stomach the gore of the book Im reading... I slacked off today. I think I may have to abandon this book for later times. Or never. Not sure which yet.

Andrew65 This is still a great total for two days. Hope you have recovered from the migraine. Best of luck for today. 😊👍 6y
jessinikkip Thanks @Andrew65 !! My head does feel better today but work will cut into my reading time. I may not make it to 24. But i have had fun this weekend either way! 6y
