This was so good!! I recommend it if you enjoy exploring the “dark” minds of killers. Hannibal was a minor character.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ After recently reading Mindhunter, I had to finally try this fictionalization of famous FBI profiler John Douglas. Book one in the Hannibal series, this follows the Tooth Fairy / Red Dragon murders. Imprisoned Dr. Lecter helps detectives catch the serial killer. Sort of. Backstory and development are disturbingly excellent. Lecter is an incredible side character. So creepy.
Finally got myself into the Hannibal series. I enjoyed this book a lot. The characters were interesting enough and I just found myself enjoying the story so much. Highly recommend if you like True Crime and Hannibal. Also as a side note. If you read Hannibal‘s lines, read it in Mads Mikkelsen‘s voice. 10x better to read it with his accent.
I completely forgot I had litsy 😱😱😱 I've collected so many books since my last post. This is just some of them. Can't wait to learn again how to use this app. 🤣🤦🏻♀️

Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. My all time favourite the book and the film both fantastic.
Room by Emma Donoghue. The book is far better than the film.
Red Riding Hood by Sarah Cartwright and David Johnson. The book goes into a lot more detail but the film is great viewing.
I have been wanting to read this for years, so I‘ve built it up a lot in my head. A lot of my expectations were met! It‘s a good suspense book, not much of a detective story as you follow both the investigation then half way through the murderer too. I loved the look inside the bad guys head, along with the chase and creative ending… but the intro to Hannibal was weak. I was expecting a mastermind, but maybe that‘s reserved for the sequels?

Day 72.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.
Look at this incredible copy of red dragon I found! This is one of my favorite horror books so this was a big score for me!
You guys...I made the mistake of finishing this book yesterday, then watching the movie before bed. Big mistake! This book is so disturbing but in the best way. Dr. Lecter is such a fascinating character, even though he only has a bit part in the 1st book. The main bad guy in this one is so intriguing. Definitely will leave you w/some imagery that won‘t go away anytime soon. Highly recommended to those who love thrillers & don‘t mind some gore.5⭐️
I'm definitely biased as a huge fan of the Lecter universe in general, but I enjoyed this book. It was the only one in the series for which I had no real expectations for the story having not seen this book previously portrayed elsewhere (I haven't watched all the films/shows!). It's definitely a graphic and often unpleasant read- but that's what you'd expect from the mind that created Lecter!
This had a slow start but picked up and finished strong!
If your looking for a well written psychological thriller look no further. Not only do you get to see inside the mind of the protagonist the “Tooth Fairy” but you also get to see inside the mind of none other than Will Graham himself. This book is dark, emotional, and full of surprises. Plus you get a glimpse at the infamous Dr. Hannibal Lecture.
Loved it
If you are a suspense lover.. This is completely the book for you
After Sherlock Holmes....
Well I‘m hoping this may get me out of my slump. I took a mental health day today as it was much needed and I haven‘t read in a day and usually I‘m reading a book or two so it‘s odd for me. Aiming to finish my 3-4 current reads and maybe start one more.

I grew up on these movies and I couldn‘t wait to read the books when I saw them in the store. I bought all of them in the series! The character of Hannibal is so fascinating and it was great to meet him and see him engage with Will Graham.
Friday was our 10 year anniversary, so I didn‘t get nearly as much reading in this weekend since we celebrated for three days straight. We did get a lot of watch time in though. The points above +1 participation point=26 points
For a Week 1 check in total of: 391 for #TeamHarkness #Scarathlon2020 @StayCurious
I will calculate points earned for readathon hours at the end of the readathons from now on so as not to confuse myself. 😅
Damn another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read! Morbidly Fascinating, Gripping and twisted and kept me super engaged. Pretty horrifying. I had seen this movie before but was so into the book I had forgotten what happens and was shocked and on the edge of my seat, great horror/suspense. But I absolutely hate that William Blake painting, ugh nightmarish👹
He smells all my books lol OK so there is this book review on the back cover saying it will give you nightmares and I rolled my eyes at it but last night I literally had nightmares lol I‘m so hooked on this book so far, I had to force myself to put it down 👹
☠️ October Read ☠️🙀 This series has been on my TBR for a long time. I got this second hand and I‘m actually glad I received a movie cover because the original cover for this one give me the creeps 😖

Lecter is my favourite. Books, movies, whatever. 100% my favourite series
Proper reading order is

Red Dragon
The Silence of the Lambs

I don't care what order they were released in.

Another Hannibal Lecter novel although it had very little Lecter in it. This book also had much less sexism than The Silence of the lambs.
This was some kind of shorter version of the book in audio form. It is anoying when it doesn't say in the description that it is not the full version. This book was ok. Nothing special. I think the movie might be better.
First book down in the series is officially done. I couldn‘t put it down, and I‘m surprised because quite frankly the movie sucked. The book surprised me by being REALLY good.
Interesting thought. One of the most imaginative ppl I know, also happens to deal with a great amount of fear and anxiety. Now I wonder, is that the really the price as Thomas says? Hmmm
Thank you for this Radiant #ManicMonday @JoScho 😁

📖 - “Red Dragon” by Thomas Harris
📝 - Rucka, Greg
🎥 - “Return of the Jedi” (I don‘t care what the haters say, I like Ewoks!)
📺 - “Remington Steele”
🎤 - Rose, Axl (when he actually shows up for a concert! 🤦🏻♂️)
🎸 - Rainbow (especially the Dio era!)
🎶 - “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” by Iron Maiden (it‘s metal and it has literary roots as well! Reading rocks! 🤘🤓)
And so begins my deep dive into the creepiest of the creeps.. Hannibal Lecter series
My quarantine routine has become: morning reading, late morning work and chores, post-lunch reading, afternoon exercise/ outside, evening reading. It‘s not the worst.
Today‘s #QuarantineRead 🦠📚
I‘m finally tackling my never ending #TBR pile. First up, Hannibal Lecter. The Silence of the Lambs is one of my favorite movies so I‘m super excited for this! I sat down with it about an hour ago and I‘m already 100 pages in 😬 I‘m loving all of the suspense and the anxiety. 💀
My 8th book of March unfortunately doesn‘t count towards my #MarchUnshelfing total, but at least it‘s another book checked off my miles long list of #BooksToReadBeforeIDie Not as gripping as Silence Of The Lambs was, I much prefer Clarice to Will Graham, it also suffers from being a bit dated but still a good read. Next up I‘m catching up on some Bosch I haven‘t gotten around too. Do ebooks count in the #challenge @Clwojick They aren‘t library.🤔
Bk8 of my #MarchUnshelfing #challenge is a library book, but it‘s been renewed a few times so does it count? The first Hannibal Lecter novel, it follows the FBI agent that caught Lecter as he‘s on the hunt for another serial killer. Dubbed The Tooth Fairy by Atlanta police because he repeatedly bites his main victim, Graham needs to get inside his head without causing himself more trauma than was left after Lecter tried to gut him. Fun times!🔪🩸
Bk5 of my #librarybookhaul is the 1st in the Hannibal Lector trilogy. Another book that‘s gone missing from my home library, I‘ve recently reread Silence Of The Lambs and wanted to brush up on the prequel before going on to Hannibal, which is the only one I have left on my shelves. I know Lector is a monster, but he‘s such an interesting character! #somefavabeansandanicechianti🍷
These books were on my TBR since 2013 when I got them as a gift. Why I only got to them now is a mystery. I love Harris' story telling style.
Can't wait to jump into the next one!

@JoScho I‘m so excited for another #ManicMonday challenge, I could just scream! 😱😉
📖 - “Red Dragon” by Thomas Harris. I actually read this before I read Stephen King, and this was one of the first books to really get under my skin! 😱
🎥 - “Scream” - I know a lot of people have already said this movie, but I can‘t go with anything else... that emoji just reminds me so much of Ghostface! 👻
🎶 - “Screaming For Vengeance” by Judas Priest 🤘🎸
Can Special Agent Will Graham find the monstrous Red Dragon, a serial killer targeting families, before he kills again? A very taut psychological thriller with characters you become emotionally invested in, leading to an explosive ending. Looking forward to the sequels!
