Another fabulous read about the intrepid Miss Fisher.
Another fabulous read about the intrepid Miss Fisher.
One more down in my #PhryneMarathon This sees Phryne & her maid Dot take the lovely Lin Chung on a house party weekend in the Australian Alps. But like all of Phrynes adventures, things get lively, a maid is assaulted then goes missing, there‘s death threats & snares laid for the unwary. Just another weekend for the unconventional flapper! #phryneappreciationclub #LitsyAtoZ2020 #LetterU #PopSugar20 #PublishedInThe20thCentury #MountTBR2020 #Bk3 👇👇
Number 8 in the Phryne Fisher series, and this one is a bit of an homage to Agatha Christie, including a familiar character by the name of Miss Mary Mead😉 I do like Phryne, she‘s such fun!
This description of Phryne Fisher‘s destination in the opening chapter of ‘Urn Burial‘ made me giggle. Especially Dot‘s reaction after everyone else‘s.
I‘m in love with the Phryne Fisher series (books & show!) and am currently rereading via audiobook. Urn Burial is one of my favorites and it holds up well the 2nd time around. Miss Fisher is not in her usual setting in St Kilda, but away for the week at a house party ala Agatha Christie. I love her relationship with Lin Chung (very equal to my love of her and Jack in the show). 5⭐️ I would highly recommend this series!

What more can I say about this series that I haven‘t already said? I can‘t praise it any higher, you‘ll just have to take my word that you need to read it ASAP! Bk7 in the series sees Phryne, her lover Lin Chung & her faithful maid Dot, go to a weeks break at Caves House, a Gothic mansion in the Victorian highlands. But before they‘ve arrived they rescue a maid in the fog & been shot at. Then the maid disappears after Phryne sees her dead body.5⭐️
Continuing my #loveozfictionreadathon with a reread of Bk7 in the Phryne Fisher series. I‘ve recently been buying the #audible versions but I‘ve run out of credits so the print version it is. Plus, the other Aussie author books are temp in a large box & I‘m in too much pain to be arsed honestly. Anytime is Phryne time though, reading about the amazing jazz age vamp PI will cheer me up immensely👍 #phryneappreciationclub
Just a good fun read. Love a bit of Phryne.
Pretty pleased that this happened todsy. With the arrival of my beautiful girl at the start of this year and with my very active three year old I thought two books a month would be all I could manage this year.
This was another good installment of this series, but I did miss Bert and Cec.
Thanks @hermyknee for the lovely #giveaway ! Even though this is not YA, my favorite #IShipIt would have to be Phryne Fisher and Lin Chung. As great as Phryne and Jack are in the show, Phryne and Lin are just as great together in the books. The tagged book is one of my favorites with them. For YA, I would have to go with either Katniss & Peeta, or Bella & Edward. #YAGiveaway 💚#phrynefisher #mystery
Phryne's hair is only one of the most appealing aspects of this character 😉. I love her sense of style, her disregard of convention if it goes against her personal set of ethics, and just her. I love this character. #phryneappreciationclub. Also works for #augustgrrrl

Kinda feel bad these came in when they did, but I'm digging today's #bookhaul! #phryneforever #phryneappreciationclub
#MarchIntoReading #day30 #StartsWithUVW I found more than I thought & these are just from the lounge room bookcases. I even found a V even though I passed over ones that started with A, The or It. Go me! #phryneappreciationclub
Actually forgot how this worked out. Bit gruesome.
Assignment handed in -- bedtime with book.
These were the first characters I thought of for the #feistyfeb #artdeco prompt. Phryne Fisher and Hercule Poirot are two of my favourites. And Phryne Fisher also doubles for #mostbadassheroine #riotgrams. #day26
The cat has joined the party... Probably because she smelled food (of which she gets none). #litsypartyofone + 😺
Starting my #litsypartyofone with my first round of snacks and a couple of books: one in progress and then the next in the series (decided to stick with re-reads that I know I'll enjoy). The cat has decided that she has better things to do than come to my party.

Nothing else seemed to hit the spot today, so I decided to re-read a Phryne Fisher mystery.
Though not a very long novel, it was another brilliant Phryne Fisher story. The only drawback was, as I said, it's length. I want more Phryne! Now I have to order more and wait for its delivery. I suppose I can read some more Dame Christie in the meantime, more Miss Marple is not a tragedy. If you haven't read any Phryne, what are you waiting for?! She's like Miss Marples niece, but wilder and Australian. Highly recommended.5⭐️
Up next is the Phryne Fisher story, Urn Burial. Phryne is on holiday at Caves House in Victoria's mountain country. But her host is receiving death threats, then a maid is found dead. With an angry heir, a Chinese lover and an eccentric handyman on her hands, she must find answers, even if it takes her into the limestone caves. Not a very long novel, it's also the last one I have, so looks like in addition to Flavia, I'll be buying Phryne too.
