This book was deliciously creepy. I can't believe this hasn't come on my radar sooner but I'm so glad it did and I read it! Jump scary parts, sarcastic quips and pop culture references, a kickass hero named Cas, that reminded me of teenage Dean in Supernatural, a vengefully pretty sixteen year old ghost who's been killing for 60 years. So many good elements to this. It wasn't perfectly written but it was pretty damn cool.

Don‘t really see what all the hype is about but it‘s a solid read 🤷‍♀️

Cas is a 17 YO ghost hunter who has taken up the family business after his father was murdered by a ghost. He and his mom travel from place to place so he can send ghosts to their forever deaths. When he meets Anna in all her bloody glory he feels a connection unlike he ever has to another ghost even while she swats him around like a puppet. Can he figure out what makes her stronger and more potent than any other ghost he's come up against?

Another #parnormal for #yawednesday. What more paranormal than a haunted house? This book is a duology. I have not read book 2 because I wasn't amazed by book one. It wasn't as scary as I was expecting. But lots of the kids LOVED it. The protagonist is a guy and the ghost is a girl so tell you male student to get over the girl on the cover.

One thing the #litsyatoz challenge 2017 taught me was that I hate having a pre determined list of books I have to read. When I made the list I really wanted to read them, but then I would change my mind, or be in the mood for something else. I did read 18 out of 26 so that not too shabby. 60%.

Doing the challenge again this year, but this time I will fill in as I go rather than pre determine.

#characters2017 Day 5 I've been racking my brain all day and this may be a stretch. Anna could be a consider a #fallenangel in a way.

A fantastic YA ghost story! Chalk full of ghostly good times (the creepiest moment for me, was around the 83% mark, goosebumps may have occurred, lol.) My one complaint, is the the way the narrator pronounces "Athame." Gah! Drove me nuts!Overall, Blake provides a great plot, great characters, and some fun twists. this was a definite pick! I'm going to dig into the next one immediately!

#booklove17 Day 11 I think I must have the worst memory, because I couldn't recall a cliffhanger without Googling it. Or maybe it's because I'm often late to the party on books and when I read a cliffhanger the next book is already available. I usually just feel it's setting up the next book.😳 #worstbestcliffhangers

This is not another teenage horror story. Instead it's a Poe esq ghost story. Cas is a ghost hunter. It's okay if he reminds of you of Sam or Dean of Supernatural fame. Cas is moving to Canada to tackle the ghost known as Anna Dressed in Blood. He knows she's powerful, and he knows she's violent. What he doesn't know is how he will defeat her. I like the style of this book. It's not really scary.

So I'm reading, about 1/2 way through and Will just shows up out of now where. I'm a chapter down and no one as yet has questioned what in the heck he is doing there. Needed to rant because it is annoying me.

Who ever told me this book could not be put down you are so right!! But my iPad died and I have to get back to work.

#unputdownable I finished this one in a day. I had been skipping over it on the library shelves and that was such a mistake. It has elements of Supernatural, which is a show I'm very fond of and a dash of Buffy. While there is a violence and gore, I did not find this to be scary. It is well written and I look forward to the sequel. 4⭐️

I'm having a bit of a tough time with this audiobook's narrator. ???

But I've heard such good things about this story and see it pop up constantly on reading lists and on BookTube so I'm trying to push through it.

It's amazing how a "reader" can make or break your audiobook experience!??

Terrifying YA about a cursed ghost, Anna, and a ghost-hunter named Cas who tries to solve Anna's murder after she spares his life. Perfect read for Halloween!

A cute story when a teenage ghost hunter discovers there is more to just scary ghost. 👻

I kept imagining the protagonist, Cas, as a high school age Dean Wincester, traveling across the continent dispatching ghosts. He has a bit of that attitude. Yet, it wasn't all that scary. As I read I kept thinking that if I saw this story on the big screen I would be horrified. They're were many gruesome developments, but because Cas never seemed really terrified, the story didn't make me jump at every noise the way some do.

"He drives a Ford Tempo. It's about six different shades of gray and sounds like a very angry kid pretending to drive a motorboat in the bathtub. "

Fell in love with this from the moment I picked it up! I couldn't put it down! Was the perfect dark, romantic, merciless book for fall and Halloween! Can't wait to finish the sequel!
